One smart thing about Tom Savage? When he knows the sack is inevitable, he just goes down instead of letting himself get destroyed.

Good way to play longer.

If you're in Charlottesville, don't ask questions. Just go for it.

Game's in Death Valley. They keep talking it up on the radio.

I wish we still had FSU too... instead, Maryland is the crossover game we keep instead of that one. Thanks, Swoffie.

I'm watching UGA-Vandy primarily. Here are others I'll peek in on, both ACC and otherwise:
TxTech @ WVU (how bad will the 'Eers squirm?)
Florida @ Mizzou (a few quick looks here and there)
Maryland @ Wake (only ACC game on at 3:30, so I'll flip)
Auburn @ aTm
UCLA @ Stanford (a little)

With us off, I get a chance to look in at some of these other teams that are up-and-coming. Might be fun.

Conceivable they offered us, even before Mizzu, yes. Depends on what they were offering. If it was a sliding scale in the first few years for distribution, I would say we were right to turn it down. Could have been a different offer than they offered Mizzu, seeing that we turned it down, they "sweetened" the deal for them. Who knows. With a straight "close you tab, then come sit with us" deal, it's hard to tell where things would shake out completely.

And, I do believe UNC at least sniffed around. So did Texas. Why not test the waters? At the time when things were changing, they were moving fast and furious. And there was no telling where things would end up. In the end, most of the talks fizzled, or the regents get cold feet in upsetting the apple cart, and we are where we are in whole. I don't see a whole lot changing going forward without some sort of major reform/overhaul of the entire set up of conferences/player pay, but that's a completely different animal that will take some time to play out.

I hate Musberger, but I completely read that whole thing with his voice in my head

well done

But honestly, it was their pourous DEFENSE that lost them the game... I get it, without some of your key starters you can't sustain drives, ...but it's not like UGA's defense has been exactly impressive all year long either, even with all their starters on offense..

Too bad VT won't have any huge games at home this year. I can just imagine Musberger, "You are looking live, at Sacksburg, Virginia. Home of the Hokies, Fosterball, and dominating defenses."

Cannot wait for the Florida State Clemson game. (sorry, I don't know who's at home and I'm currently too lazy to look it up)

I really wish we still had FSU on our schedule this year, ...I would LOVE to see our D-line force that rookie QB into a ton of mistakes..

Other than that, I'm not really looking forward to any other games on Saturday, ...doesn't mean that I won't be watching and keeping tabs on what other ACC teams are up to (here's looking at you LOLuva)

Welsh coached at UVA for 19 years (1982-2000), generating a W-L-T record of 134-86-3. His teams were without a losing record for his last 14 years at the school. His reward? Flat-out fired after posting a 6-6 record in 2000.

Al "The Chessmaster" Groh was next. After 9 seasons to include 5 winning seasons and an 85-93 W-L record, he too was fired.

Soooo - here we have Mike "The Savior" London who is now in his 4th year at UVA. He has managed to generate one winning season (2011) and a W-L record through last week of 18-25, and 2-4 this season. He ran off most of Groh's recruits during his first 2-3 years, and now he's using his own recruits who were, by and large, pretty good players in high school. The problem at UVA is the lack of good coaching. Period. But, despite ALL appearances, UVA claims they're going to keep London at least one more year? Isn't that the definition of insanity?

As I said, I think the article gets it wrong. The author seems to overlook the rights agreement, and he's not well versed on the ACC... That being said, apparently the heels were looking around for other dance partners, likely before the media rights agreement. One wonders if the comment about the SEC offering us before Miizzou is true. Would it be conceivable that we turned the SEC down?

The "Public Ivy" meme is both laughable and sad. Comparing Uva to the top tier Ivies, or Stanford... or even Duke is like comparing Mike London to Bill Belichik (or maybe Nick Saban would be more appropriate).
