The difference there was that Keenum was redshirted for his first year because of a separated shoulder from high school. The ACL injury later in his career led to a second lost season. Exum's redshirt was not due to injury, so he's not eligible for a second year of redshirt, unless the coaches cook up a story, which I expect will not happen at Virginia Tech.
Soooo....61,000 for BMS ticket holders...are we expecting them to get re-sold to the highest bidder? Are we expecting the normal Nascar fans to show up and pick a team, or just sit around and say they were at the biggest game? Seems to me we only have 40k "guaranteed" Hokie fans in attendance...thoughts? When I saw the total number, I thought this would be an opportune time to get some Hokie tickets. But then I remember it was hard to get seats to 65k Lane Stadium unless visitors returned their allotment.
Edit: yes, I understand the local BMS regulars will also be from SW VA & Tennessee, but still seems like it would be hit or miss on the crowd makeup!
totally agree. Always thought williams was overrated much like ronyell whitaker was late in his career.
Not enough turkey legs in the world, good sir. Well done.
Agreed. They are only favored by 3 over Duke. A Duke loss will instill sheer panic (and so it should), and could pave the way for them to lose out.
Pretty sure Case Keenum from Houston got a medical redshirt during his fifth year. He was actually hurt in the third or fourth game, and the NCAA gave him a full extra season.
Let's examine the production of those running backs who "did enough to get the job done and normally not a whole lot more" in the years that they saw playing time vs our current stable of backs the last two years. Let's also examine what scouts thought of the backs before they arrived on campus vs the current VT running backs.

QB stats are excluded from the comparison, but are here for reference (they are almost a push) - Randall ran for 511 in 2004, Marcus Vick ran for 380 in 2005, Logan ran for 524 in 2012.
Only running backs that rushed for 200 yds or are expected to rush for 200 yds or more are listed.

I will stand by my original comment that we got a significant amount more out of the Imoh/Humes/Hamilton/Ore show than what we are getting today.
It's not even close.

TURKEY LEGS FOR ALL OF MY COOKIE BRETHREN!!!
I doubt if their top verbals say anything to anyone publicly, but I bet they're listening to other programs a lot more than they were. The wheels are coming off the Hoobus, and they're coming off fast. Just look at their remaining schedule - not too many winners in that bunch, if any at all -

one of the funniest commentaries I have heard...
Welcome, young blood.
I get your very valid argument. And I never said I don't like them, I just prefer when they pick us first. I'm just not so sure we need big name recruits. We've done well turning 2 and 3 star guys into great teams (yes, I know we get four and five stars, too).
LT's block for wilson in that game was glorious as well, tho I think it was called back on a holding call...
Facts of life: Grandma's in McCoy make better food than anyone.
No because the Tequila comes in much bigger ratio and proportion at El Rodeo although Cabo is no slouch
**we'd just have a good time playing high school football**
What what? No Cabo Fish Taco anyone?

I really hate spending money so I don't eat off-campus very often. When I do it's when my family is visiting and we go to Olive Garden.
Exactly. I don't believe it's a fool's hope because I'm seeing the same things you just pointed out. If our back is against the wall and a play needs to be called, I believe he's going to make the correct play calls. I'm confident in that.
And with Miami I think we are going to strike early, like we have in the past games. We put the pressure on the opponent to come up with a play. But they can't because Bud Foster.
That was the first game in the season... And we actually got a completely unforeseen 70-something yard touchdown when we were down by 14 to keep us in the game early. So yes we did make some plays. Our special teams blunders were just too costly.
Oh, I really just can't tell you how much I look forward to a potential trolling of the Sabre if Duke pulls it out this weekend.
1. and 2. Pork w/ vinegar (all others are pretenders)

I'm a Hokie before I'm a packer. Therefor, I decided this was awesome.
