If paper airplanes and the wave are the biggest things being discussed in mid-october we must be doing something right.

I don't really mind the national anthem thing since I'm from that area. However I do take exception to all the people who aren't from that area who still yell "O".

hokie confession: i dont mind the wave. hell i've been to games where we booed the west stands for letting the wave die. and as far as the pitt homer announcers who were nitpicking every thing they could think of from loeffler's time management to how loud skipper is, i say who gives a shit? i swear some people treat espn like the kids at the cool table in high school, "i hate them they're such snobs, but oooh wait what did they say about me? do you think they like me?

paper airplanes: maybe, maybe, maybe the very first time one flew over my shoulder i chuckled because it got to the sideline but once it was a veritable barrage i was quickly over them. no littering children.

hell, i think the "o" during the national anthem is offensive and i smh every time i hear it. some folks disagree citing precedence at baltimore. personally i could give a shit what they do at orioles games but that's just me. i'm not gonna come on here and bitch and moan after every national anthem.

The paper airplanes are a joke. Serious football fan or not, throwing paper airplanes like a 5th grader, no matter where you are, is immature. Plain and simple.

I had a guy give me crap because I didn't remove my cap during the anthem.

I was rendering a hand salute and Navy never salutes without a cover. So, the hat had to stay on to perform the salute. The guys heart was in the right place but, I thought it the correct forum to perhaps educate. Navy salutes with hat on (outdoors), some other services can salute with hat off.

nah he was smart to come out when he did. His draft stock was fine, but RBs have the shortest shelf life in the NFL because they get hit so much. Sure there are a few backs who can stay in the league for 8-10+ years like Frank Gore Willis McGahee, Steven Jackson but there aren't many of them.

I just watched the replay again. Starting at about 3.5 minutes left in the first half, they mention 3 times the crowd being a factor. the mention it once, then there's a false start penalty on PITT then they mention the noise again.
There's a TV timeout and the wave starts because the TV timeout seems to go on sooo long. I was looking at the TV timeout guy because it seemed to drag. they did the normal commercial break then a game update and some commentary so, it was long.

The wave is assisted by everybody, band, highty tighties, cheerleaders, the crowd.
Then play starts again and the TV commentator makes mention. I think the TV guys overblew it a bit.
The crowd was loud in the background.

I didn't participate but, it wasn't a matter with the crowd not paying attention.

I can't find a video clip but my favorite hit was the 2003 UMD game, I don't remember who leveled their QB but from way up on the East stands you could tell he had no clue where he was or who he was when he finally got up!

This. TeamUSA had never lost at that point...and she no-hit them. IIRC only two balls made it out of the infield. Most incredible sporting performance I can think of. It would be the equivalent of USA shutting out the Russians in 1980 and not allowing any shots on goal. I think the enormity of Tincher's performance is lost on any.

I don't know if anyone remembers his recruiting video, but it was basically this. He just ran around the field at a ridiculous speed. Raw didn't describe it. The thought was maybe, maybe, by his senior year he could add enough bulk to be on the field and show enough discipline that he didn't hurt as much as he helped.

The fact this his sheer physicality translated directly to college football is shocking. When you put him in context of athletic ability for his position at VT, he's in the conversation with guys like Vick, Wilson, Moore, XAdibi and Andre Davis.

Agree 100%.

Johnny football is the best in the game at buying his receivers more time. Foster's high pressure coverages would be more likely to break down against AandM. Probably see more big plays.

He retweeted this from Shane after the game. His handle is @JermaineJr77.

Has to be one of the greatest upsets ever. A college team beating a pro team. And not just any pro team, the best team at what they did in the entire world. Pretty ridiculous stuff.

The air speed velocity of an I laden swallow is...

its tough to tell from the .gif but based on an image shown below it actually looks like the ball came out after he was down :( (of course I thought it was a fumble originally, cuz I'm a homer but whatever)

I thought it was jarred loose by the hit but the receiver (impressively) manages to hang on long enough for it to not be ruled a fumble. I'm impressed the refs got the call right actually...

that play is just amazing timing and execution. I loved being at that game.
