Honestly, I feel like the main reason isn't to be there to watch football but instead to be there because it's fucking crazy and also because Hokies.

I for one am planning on being there because it's fucking crazy and also because Hokies.

I am willing to bet that the field will be in the center and that the track will have stands on them. No way they leave an empty circle that can be sold out. And they plan to have 180k fans not 140k. This is the only way it can possibly happen.

Regarding lights. They are adjustable and the lights at Bristol are exceedingly bright. Should have no problem at all to keep infield lit all night.

The buildings shown in the rendering essentially prohibit the field from being anywhere but in the center of the infield. I fully expect all seats to be made available for this game and for Bruton to add at least one, if not two jumbotrons in the turns.

How'd you get downvoted for what has culminated alongside the rise of BeamerBall for the last two decades? C'mon people...

"Offense wins games, defense wins championships."

That being said, the flashiest offenses put up oodles of points regularly. We're not flashy. Ok, I can live with that. I've always gravitated toward defensive football, personally. Just win, baby.

The San Antonio Spurs are boring...I'll take that any day of the week.

well, I am not exactly sure how they plan to do it of course, but I know how I have done it before. Sports fields can be designed on a interconnecting grid system that can be pulled apart and reassembled. The turf is supported on a set of layers that help with drainage and fertilization, etc. So they could conceivably grow the field outside the track until after the race. Tear everything down and then move the field inside.

They're having messages from the governors right. The man speaking is like, "Butch Jones will be here!" Haha! Beamer was talking about driving the track.

Thanks, I only saw the play in real time and just assumed. Haven't gotten through all the posts yet...damn Mondays...

as awesome as this rendering is, I don't think that's how it will be when all is said and done

First, I don't think they'll put the field in the center because that would leave everybody in each turn 100+ yards away from the field...and that would kind of suck.

The lights are directed at the track and the infield is not generally well lit. I have some concerns about this being a night game. I think it will have to be a day game because, realistically, I don't think they'll be able to get sufficient lighting on the field.

I would imagine they'll have the field all the way to one end of the oval and use one entire turn and the two straights for seating fans. They'll probably put some temporary stands in the middle of the infield to close it all in. I would guess they'll have to leave one turn completely vacant. We'll probably be in the range of 130-140K fans. That way we still get the record.

should still be an awesome game though! I would love for it to be a night game but I don't have high hopes for that

hahaha... Beamer essentially just called Lane Kiffin pussy whipped

On racing Lane on the track:
"I got a call that Lane couldn't do it. That his wife had concerns about his safety. I though that... my wife was encouraging me to drive"

GOLD. PURE GOLD

They said the Bristol race is only two weeks before this game. How are they going to get everything setup
for this game with only two weeks to prepare is my question.

Yes, I do remember his HS film,... thinking this guys gets after every play like its the last time he'll ever play. His effort is just ridiculous, then combined with athleticism+ Gentry+ Bud= awesome.

The question this week is: What is your mascot's favorite pet?

I think this is pretty tough. It would have to be either the Commonwealth Cup, the Black Diamond Trophy, or the entire state of North Carolina. What do you guys think?
