I also say keep it simple, but man, backflips is what DW do! (sorry for the lack of grammar, just seemed to flow better this way) Not like he just came up with this when he hit the NFL endzone, his "dance" is well established.
I agree as well - I have no problem seeing a bunch of players celebrating together after a score, but hand the ball to the ref and celebrate with your teammates. Football is a team sport, 9 times out of 10 there were ten other guys who helped you get to the endzone. Don't draw all the attention to yourself with showboating.
That being said - backflips are impressive to an uncoordinated person like me.
I think the biggest concern for the second half has to be the lack of production running the ball. If we can make improvements in the run game, this is a pretty darn good football team. The defense will continue to play at a high level, and you have to imagine Kendall and Fayscon will continue to improve. I could see this team winning out if they get the running game on track, but Miami is a tough opponent to go against with a 1-dimensional offense.
Ok! Im at ETSU right now, but hopefully will be at Tech soon.
Hopefully we add more 5 star guys by then..having 3 or 4 can make a dream season. Just look at the difference LT3 and Fuller make having them on the field.
If the offense continues to improve and stays healthy..we can win out. The Miami game is the tough one obviously but they get FSU the week before..that has to be an advantage for Virginia Tech. Clemson on offense isn't as explosive this year as in past seasons but their team as a whole is much more consistent. If it's FSU and we get to the ACCCG..that freshman hadn't met Mr. Foster. ;)
#ALLMAROONEVERYTHING is certainly still acceptable of course!
Maroon effect was last week vs UNC though.
This has to be the biggest, most hyped, largest crowd to see a football game ever. How can any Hokie not want to be there. Just close your eyes and imagine enter sandman with 160,000 fans going crazy. This has to be a major recruiting tool as well..I can see a top 10 ranked team for Virginia Tech in this game. Tennessee should also be much improved with the recruiting they are doing. Can't wait!
The neck has been more positive since we are winning games..that's the best way to shut up the Hokie haters.
It's probably going to be either the bama game uni or all maroon for maroon effect. Just a hunch.
I'll take a W. That is all.
I plan on being there, so there will be at least one pair of daisy dukes.
I'm also a fan of #allwhiteeverything, just no orange everything, please.
sorry mom, i'll now be staying a 5th year...
Exactly what I wanted!! Thank You!
Couple things:
1. I think you mean Cameron Phillips for WR
2. Don't forget Kyle Chung on the OL.
3. Don't think Riley will be around then. Maybe Terrell Edmunds, Cequan Jefferson, Charles Clark or Greg Stroman develops by then?
4. The 2 safeties you named are what I would bet but Shegog could be a dark horse.
5. At DE, Seth Dooley could be opposite of Mihota. Or one of the highly rated '15 guys we might pick up.
I agree with you that OL is what I'm most excited about. Can't wait!!
I have been waiting for this for so long. I am gettin enough tickets for my whole volunteer family so I can sit right in the middle of them. Oh happy day!!
That's a ton of people. I better start saving some money now.
They can easily get more. But I do know there are other renditions that will probably be used in the future so the Hokie Stone theme will continue, just don't know if it will look the same way. Posted a picture in another forum that was more of a white colored Hokie Stone. Looked pretty cool up close.
Sure. Hold the keyboard over your head, so the beer drains into your mouth. When in this position, it helps if a buddy pours some bourbon over the keyboard to make sure you get all the beer washed out.
Let's get optimistic here and assume we keep Brandon and Kendall for all 4 years. Same with guys like Sam Rodgers and Jonathan McGlock. Current freshmen will be seniors then.
QB: Bucky Hodges or Andrew Ford with one full year starting experience.
RB: Marshawn Williams and who knows, maybe Trey Edmunds will stick around.
FB: Bruce Banner
WR: Javon Harrison (hoping he keeps his commitment), Cameron Jordan, Josh Stanford
OL: Some combination of McGlock, Teller, Osterloh, Pfaff, Smith and the Fab 5 with enough depth and experience to be confident. This is my favorite spot on this hypothetical roster. It seems deeper and more talented than any O-Line I've seen at Tech.
CB: Fuller, Faycson and does anyone doubt we'll find a capable third guy to play nickel? maybe Riley
Safety: CJ Reavis and (I dearly hope) Holland Fisher
LB: This is a question mark, but there are a few big recruits who, if they get grades in shape and commit, could lock down this spot for 4 years. Jay Payton is a name to watch.
DT: Walker and hopefully Nandi
DE: We'll have to see how this shakes out, but Mihota should be legit. I feel like I'm missing someone here
That is a pretty lineup. There's a solid amount of planning fallacy here, since I'm taking the goal and claiming it as the baseline, but unreasonable speculation is fun. Damn I am psyched for this game and the season for that matter.
This... is so beautiful :')
YEE FRIGGIN HAW Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine a baseball and football game double booked for the same field...at least Bristol has the space.
