For a second I thought that Lane Kiffen got hired by the Wahoos already.
Why does the conversation always have to devolve into "But how hot is his wife/girlfriend/sister/daughter/mother?" *eye roll*
Nope. Got me too. I was a little disappointed at first but the GIF made it better.
Am I the only one who was expecting breaking news before clicking on this? Awesome gif though.
Being so early, it's definitely difficult to know for sure but I think Baylor has a lot of potential to win the conference. I can't in any circumstance see them running the table IMO. Like you said, the TCU game could carry a lot of weight in the final week.
Always the voice of moderation, Chachi. Thank you
I did, and I am. Thank you for bringing my attention to this urgent matter.
These are all excellent points, I may have to revise my prediction. I still stand by the fact that FSU will lose two games in that stretch, but as you point out, they should be ready to give MD what fer.
For the record, I will not be cheering for MD at all ever again since they're bailing for the Big2Little10
I was focusing on the comments around having teams with inflated rankings that were over rated. UVA, FSU, BC, Miami, Clemson, and VT all had this during the 2000s now it seems the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction....I am looking at you B1G and Big XII
I guess we are going to have the rare college football double header...I hope we sweep them
Its a toss up between Bill Cowher and Derek Dooley maybe Bo Pelini?
baylor may well be the best team in 12/10. oklahoma is good not great and okie st doesnt have the qb this year they need to make that offense hum. baylor has put up big numbers against the little sisters of the poor, so they still have a lot to prove. the baylor tcu game could be a monster.
Almost halfway through the season, and his predictions seem to be coming true. This quote is from an article in January.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I definitely want to start. I'm not looking to redshirt. If not starting, I wanna be a nickelback or something like that, but I definitely want some playing time. As a freshman, I wanna be all-conference and first-team and any other accolades I can get. I'm shooting for the highest, so I'm not looking to settle anywhere. I've just gotta stay hungry and grind every day.
i remember weaver saying something on ttl a couple of years ago about wanting to start a smaller travel version of the mv's that they could afford to send to more road games. i know a lot of schools do that. i remember at wake in 06 sitting in the row right above the mvs. it was awesome. they should come to more away games than they do.
That is such a lame comment to make and you know it. That post took me all of 30 seconds; probably about the same time yours did. And this thread is like the tenth one this week dishing on ESPN or the Bleacher Report so I'd say it was very necessary.
I hate to disagree with you Horse, since it rarely ever happens, but FSU will beat UMD next week. My reasoning? 1) they are playing in Tallahassee 2) FSU just got a cold splash of water in the face at BC and they should be motivated to bust their butts this week 3) UMD has not had to work hard in any of their wins yet 4) UMD has not played anybody with the talent level of FSU. 5) UMD is not going to sneak up on FSU due to their undefeated record.
For the record, I will be cheering for UMD, as I have detested everything FSU since the MV7 MNC game.
I think it will be close, and FSU may not cover the line, but UMD is coming back down to earth.
ECU does compete well with the ACC.....being about .500 with a lot of the team.
And don't forget their epic wins over 'the U' a few years back.
Their issue, frankly, is academics.
There's only a few coaches in the NCAA that would be of interest to USC, especially after they got burned taking a flyer on the "young, hot coach" that Kiffin theoretically was. The short list of NCAA HC's with the requisite resume of success would likely be Saban, Meyer, Stoops, maybe Sumlin, Richt, Petersen, Briles and a few more. I doubt any on that list would be interested except maybe Sumlin, Petersen or Briles. (I left HCFB off since we know he isn't available) I really doubt you see USCw elevate an NCAA assistant to their HC job, which leaves us with the NFL. HC's and any OC or DC in the NFL with prior HC experience are all fair game for the kind of $$$ that USCw can offer.
Personally, I would offer to double Chris Petersen's salary and see what he can do with the kind of talent that USCw can attract, once the schollie restrictions are gone. They would have to pay him around $5 million with bonuses and such, and he is a much better prospect IMHO than anybody else on the list. But knowing USCw, they will go trolling in the NFL instead.
Those 1 AM games are brutal......
I calle this early when USCw was ranked preseason and we weren't. They had more holes, a worse prior year record, and unproven coach. Couldn't happen to a bigger DB.
WHAT?! THEY PROMISED ME THAT JOB!
It was never inflated like the SEC is now... its just the SEC was more of 'just another conference' kinda conference.
and 'The U' was almost back, too.
GO HOKIES!
Good call on upset alert of MD over FSU. That would actually be preferable for VT being that we play MD.
I watched most of the BC /FSU game and BC hung around for most of the game.
GO HOKIES!
My 6 years of experience in the MVs:
1. Always travel to @UVA
2. Usually travel to big OOC games at neutral sites (e.g. Bama '09/'13, Boise '10)
3. Never travel more than twice during the regular season (Thanks Weaver...)
4. Travel to a nearby away game in NC if it would not violate rule 3 (notable exception: @Clemson '12 but it was the ONLY regular season game the MVs traveled for)

Yeah when I saw the title I was hoping it was for the Pitt game being scheduled at night (please don't be another noon game), but the GIF is hilarious
