I seem to remember him NOT shaking Beams' hand after that Peach Bowl. Regardless, he's always seemed to be a jerk.

My ex-girlfriend went to UNC and I went to a couple games there. There's almost no tailgating (unless you're a member of the Ram's Club at the official catered tailgate) and what is there is sporadic and inhospitable. They seem to not even like other Tar Heel fans.
They aren't concerned with being present for pregame or kick-off and once their team is behind by more than 2 scores they leave. They also have NO football knowledge. When I asked why they cheer louder when UNC has the ball, I was told by my ex and 3-4 guys that they cheer because it's more exciting when they have the ball...I could only shake my head in disbelief.

I'm not entirely sold on Nebraska getting the nod over Maryland. Both teams had byes and Nebraska hasn't beaten anybody while Maryland stomped all over WVU (who just upset OK State). While I don't see us getting ranked without at least one more conference win, I could definitely see Maryland getting ranked before Nebraska.

We will land at 25 I think. We'll jump Maryland since they didn't play. ASU and NIU will take 23 and 24 respectively giving VT the nod at 25.

My first thought, especially since this could end up being a statistical season that catapults him back to the fore front of "hot" coaches.

I think that doesn't have the personality for USCw though. Too honest/blunt for that part of the country. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

A big reason they gashed us is Giovanni Bernard putting up 260+ yards of rushing. He's playing on Sunday and doing a damn good job of it. I haven't seen any of their current RBs being that good.

We also had a pretty crap defense last year until the very end. Our D this year is good, and it will be in Lane Stadium on Homecoming. Our crowd should be pretty fired up.

I'm not going to say it's a surefire win, but I think we'll do a pretty okay job.

They miss Bernard way more than they thought they would.

Personally, I feel that the whopping he received at the hands of Beamer was the start of his downward spiral to unemployment.

I was thinking this just as they said it. Hilarious stuff, thank you announcers.

I was actually about to say this a few posts up when someone suggested that we should feast on their o line. AA beat me to it.

Discipline is key, so Iowa could beat them and USCw could not, even with the extra time.

Putting "discipline" in the same sentence as USC-W who just fired their head coach does not belong in the same sentence. Furthermore, I watched the Sun Bowl between the Bees and the Fighting Condoms, and I could tell that the Condoms were not into the game as much as the Bees.

Yet, Foster made the trip to Iowa, against doctor's orders after having his back surgery done, to learn how they were able to beat Georgia Tech. Since then, Foster evolved his approach in beating the Bees.

Yeah, the Dominique Terrell plays on ST. I remember wanting him to come to VT, as he was highly hyped coming out of high school. I barely blame the kid, though, it appears that he hasn't been coached up much.

At this point, I'd have to go

1) SEC
2) PAC 12
3) ACC
4) One of the Bigs
5) The other Big
6) Louisville (averages out the other teams in that conference, but I think Louisville is tight)

We just got through the first saturday of actual games. We need to wait until halfway through October to be able to judge these teams on the eye test. Most OOC matchups are done until bowl games at this point, but the PAC12 has the best OOC record out of anyone, and I believe it isn't even close. I'd still rank the SEC up top because I think the top of the SEC has about 4 teams or 5 teams (UGA, Bama, LSU, A&M, maybe Florida) that would beat most of the PAC12 and could hang with the Oregons and Stanfords of the conference, if not win. USCe appears to be a little overrated. I don't believe Washington is as good as they're being hyped to be, but they are good. Between the two conferences, I'd go:

Bama
Oregon
Stanford
UGA
LSU
A&M
Florida & UCLA
Washington & USCe
The rest

We won't have a chance to see Stanford against a real OOC opponent until the bowl game, though, and they really dropped the ball in the second half against AzState last week. Judging by last night's performance against USCw, though, it appears that second half performance is the Sun Devil's M.O.

Side note, maybe Todd Graham to USCw? Job hopper extraordinaire.

I don't care who gets the job as long as it's not Foster.

I watched this game. There was a lot of yellow in the stands (it's the Steelers stadium, the seats are yellow).

Despite my completely accurate portrayal of HD's reporting skills above. I agree with this. If you don't want HD reporting then don't give her the clicks.

I am not sure what JC's deal is. I know that a high ankle sprain is really tricky to recover from.

I think JC is one heck of a kid, but at his size, you either have to be elusive or you have to really be that special kind of player that move the pile ala a Ray Rice. As much as I want to see "it" in him, I just don't see that natural elusiveness or vision. I want to, but it just doesn't jump out on film, even in the Duke game where he put up big numbers. Having a sore ankle limits his greatest strength, which has been to date running really hard and getting yards after contact.
