Remember, if an SEC team loses to another SEC team they're not overrated or bad. The bottom feeders in that conference are better than the second best in any other conference and the conference games are 10x tougher than anywhere else so upsets and close games are to be expected.
They've built themselves a very nice catch 22.
27th in the Coaches' Poll too. OK State didn't drop out so not really surprised we aren't ranked there.
The people looking on there are all the sorority/frat people that didn't get their ticket in the first place. The issue with the crowd won't be a matter of how it looks at kick off, but how it looks after half time.
It says 1 am. Must be their default if no game time has been announced. I'd say Pitt might actually end up being a 1 or whatever time ESPN3 games are.
Thanks for the heads up. I used the $10 promo code I got with NCAA 14 (if you bought it, check your game box!!) and got this hat for just the $4.99 shipping cost.

It definitely won't be as empty as the other games. I have yet to see a single person in all the VT student Facebook group selling tickets but a lot of people are looking for them.
I went last year when we played them and the only spots really available were the top of the top decks. Never thought I'd say I like anything in Pittsburgh, but I enjoyed my time up there and it was a really nice stadium. Would have been better with a Hokie W, but we know how last year went and we did get the RVD double block out of it.
AND WTF? How is Ole Miss still ranked? They just got plastered by Bama.
It says AP Poll updated on 9/29
Wait, they announced the game time of the Pitt and Duke games? I don't want a 1:00! Gimme 3 at least.
Where are you seeing the new AP poll? Link?
According to the latest piece by The Neck we play Pitt and NC next week.
Sports fans, fellow Hokies, I think we can all agree this team can only be considered:

Wow. The AP Poll left NIU out and put UMD in. I don't agree with that at all. NIU deserves to be ranked, most people who have watched them understand how good Jordan Lynch really is. We're 27th if you extended that poll out.
I was going off the Coaches' Poll since that's the one the BCS uses. Nebraska is 3rd in the "Others receiving votes" category and the two team ahead of them (GT, UCF) both lost. So in that poll at least I think Nebraska is gonna be ranked.
Or even better, let it bounce into the end zone if you're on your own 5...
How soon before he offers to be one of our OTs? ;)
I grew up in a house that did not follow college sports, so the only college football I watched was the big bowl games. I grew up a Phillies, Flyers and Redskins fan. My journey to becoming a Hokie started with my decision to join the JROTC unit in high school. In my area, you only do two years of Physical Education so starting my junior year I wanted to do something that challenged me physically and mentally. I had a friend in the unit and it seemed like a great idea. I got so involved and met a lot of great people that I figured the military was the life for me. I knew that I didn't want to join the navy, so I decided on Army ROTC and I looked at VMI and VPI. The idea of not having any civilian contact seemed to scare me away and I liked the idea of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech so the only schools I applied to were Virginia Tech and Old Dominion. Luckily I got my Tech acceptance first, because I'm sure if my mom would have had a say, I would have stayed home and gone to ODU. Knowing that I was looking and Tech and later getting my acceptance, I began to follow college sports more closely. Enter the shock of beginning freshmen year with new cadet week and all the nuances of being a freshman cadet. Sports became an even bigger outlet and I started following not only Hokie football, but basketball (I claim the 76ers in the NBA but the NBA is so boring to watch. College basketball plays with so much more heart I feel.), soccer, and anything I could to get more of the Hokie experience. Fast foward to 6 years later, I now work in the athletic department and get to attend every football, basketball, volleyball and wrestling event, granted I'm working, but still, I enjoy every minute I get to help give back to my alma mater. I didn't end up in the Army because I tore ligaments in my shoulder and they would not commission me, but I would not trade those four years being in the Corps of Cadets or the lessons I learned in the 4 1/2 years in the Army program and at Virginia Tech. I love being a Hokie and I'm grateful for the experiences it has afforded me. Go Hokies!
Here's another division misalignment by David Hale on ESPN (he made the one listed above as well, though that one has since been fixed)
And what happened to North Carolina? Sure, the Tar Heels hadn't opened the season with many fireworks, but this was a team that tied for the Atlantic Division title a year ago, looked at least reasonably capable against South Carolina in its opener and was up early on Georgia Tech a week ago before faltering late. So did the Heels take out their frustrations against East Carolina? Not even close. UNC allowed 603 yards and 55 points, of course.
Yes they were trimmed down. Field looked great....just empty
Premature, but let's be honest, USC isn't going anywhere soon. The shift in the PAC12 is great, now instead of one school getting ALL the premiere west coast athletes, 6-8 schools have legitimate shots of getting the recruits.
sarcasticfont> Real question: Does this mean USC wanted to hire Saban before Texas could? /sarcasticfont>
And everywhere vol fans are elated at kiffins failure....
As far as I know, Jack del Rio is at the forefront for the job, pending he'd be willing to give up his DC position at Denver in what could be a super bowl contention type of year...
Not that I care, but I thought you might.
Matriculation is enrollment, so Freshman matriculate and Seniors graduate. However, if you meant he matriculated into the NFL, you are correct (although it's a weird way of saying entering the NFL, since matriculation typically is used when talking about schools and prestigious groups).
My story goes like this:
My dad is an alumni, so I'd always heard of VT, and pulled for them even though I didn't know much about them. Doing my college search, I only applied to humor him, and I knew they were good for engineering. Originally, I'd wanted to go to Pitt (Mom's whole family lives there), but circumstances happened, and I ended up not going. I started to fall in love with Tech with each visit I took, not only to campus but to the state of Virginia itself. I think when I knew wanted to go here was when I took my open house visit. I knew I fit in here, and the rest is history.

But how could they possibly not catch that they have us play the university of non-compliance twice next Saturday?!
