Personally I don't like to see people say "Marshall is a better team than you think" as an excuse to others that question our ability in beating them in 3 OT's. yes they are a better team but they are not a BCS Championship caliber team. That's who I expect us to play with and struggle to win, not a Conference USA team. That's not meant to be a knock on Marshall but a benchmark to my expectations on the level of our Hokie's play.
I do recognize we are in a rebuilding phase though and we will struggle against better than believed teams like Marshall, and beating a team like that with such an accurate passer is a a good win, no matter how ugly. That, however, doesn't mean that we should be getting more respect in the media right now for playing so ugly.
