There was a quote a little while ago about how Shane Beamer said that the recruits love going to the Equipment Room and seeing all the uniforms. Apparently last year's military appreciation combo was a huge hit.
Does anyone actually have proof that "recruits and players love all the uniforms"? Or is it just conjecture used to justify our athletic department's complete lack of design sense, taste, subtlety, brand consistency, and tradition? It's like we got saddled with the Nike Design Practice Squad...

Even though the offense were making progress, small ones, mind you, they did hit a snag. Credit Loeffler and S. Beamer for admitting they didn't do a good job of in-game adjustment. How refreshing! I remember that blog post Bitter did last summer where Stiney said, "I don't second guess myself." No wonder he sucked as an OC. Loeffler lamented that they didn't do enough to win the game against ECU. So I expect to see some improvements against Marshall.

Nope, the winner was a student who is the SGA Hokie Effect Director. In other words, he's a name that many people probably know at the University so they picked him over a higher quality entry such as BillDozer.
I think JMU is still a little bit ahead of LU at this point. We've managed to play them close the last two times-3 point-but by the time we play I expect Tech's offense to be competent, the defense to be business as usual, and hope that Shane will have taken over special teams by then. (Second Paragraph).

I believe that this is the game that we will see the offense finally putting things together. Of course it is dependent on how the big uglies performs against Marshall's defense. Defensively, I do expect to see our secondary getting tested, but I think the opportunity for feasting on turnovers are ripe.
Someone mentioned the weather...I seem to recall on a rainy day in Blacksburg, a school from Florida got whipped pretty good.
Of course...there was JMU on a rainy Saturday.

Sounds like the vote was legit and a few top ones were submitted to the athletic department, then they chose. I was about to think that they sent the people who made the videos to the athletic department, but that didn't sound right. Since BillDozer didn't win, I at least hope VTPhreak was the winner. Quality should count for something.
It's a fact. We refer to it as his pager. He gets notified he received a text, who it was from, but not the content of the message.
I love it. It looks 3D and has a lot of potential. Tone it down a bit, slap on maroon VT logo, and lets go out for drinks.

Where did this come from? I actually think that looks good - but the hokie stone helmet will probably look like too much. I have zero confidence in us designing an attractive uni combo.
EDIT: And by us I mean VT, certainly the key play user base could design something better.
Anybody know why Zach McCray doesn't get any playing time? He looked good in the spring game.
If it's on TV and the commentator says, "this is Hokie Stone," and explains what it is, then people will know. It's called learning. It's what happens within the confines of Hokie Stone buildings. I like 'em.

As I said above, I like these. But that assumes the rest of the uni is done right. Throw a VT logo on there with maroon unis/pants and it's badass.
However, given how our unis have looked over the last two years I fully expect them do something incredibly goofy with it. Hope not though.
If it were more like the background of this website, it would be better - more of a solid grey granite

See, I'd be okay if there were Hokie Stone accents. Give me a Hokie Stone stripe down the center or a Hokie Stone VT and we're good. This is just too much in my opinion.
