Journell had a tough game, and to his credit he didn't mention his back spasms earlier in the week. He's been money for us in the past, and he's certainly no Ray Finkle (which, by the way, on one kick, the laces weren't out!).
Zero chance he would have been drafted as high as the 2nd round.
Jumbo turkey leg for the XFL reference. All I need to see is one of the Fullers in a HE HATE ME jersey to have my year be complete.
If the redshirt works out for Marshall, DE will be a very interesting position to watch early next year. We will have Marshall (r-Jr), Nicolas (r-Jr), Roth (r-Jr), Ekanem (r-So), Alford (r-So), Dooley (r-Fr), and whoever we pull for the 2014 Class. There's no guarantee that Marshall will earn a starting spot next year - he's going to face some pretty stiff competition.
Virtually everyone is coming back for Leal, or whoever starts at QB next year, minus Andrew Miller and DJ Coles. Every receiver will be a year older and more mature, and throw in Malleck who was going to be an intricate part of the offense this year as another veteran and I think we will be just fine. That also includes 4 starting lineman and the stable of backs are all returning. The offense is looking up for the future and you know Bud will always bring the defense to play.
I have no idea how one would stumble across this. It is hilarious, though.
I did a ninja edit as damage control. The original post met some opposition as you can tell from my negative legs. Doesn't need to be repeated.
Were these XFL surplus?
if he was going to be a late first/early second rounder last year he would have been out in a heartbeat. The draft advisory board gave him back a projected draft round much later than that.
5-1!! Woohoo!
Good job by me to throw away two decent weeks.
When did this degenerate into a discussion about Wang?
Well that will give him two more seasons to play at DE. With Gayle, Collins, and Wilson leaving this year it will be good for us to have him at DE, we need the depth. Moreover, Him playing DT would have been out of complete necessity, not doing anything for his NFL draft stock, since his position is DE. I like the idea. Marshall and Nicoles could be a sick combo. I would predict Dadi lined up on the RT and Marshall over the LT. Marshall, Williams (or Baron) Maddy and Nicoles, that could be a Dline with very little drop of from this last year. Put Nnadi and Walker in the rotation at DT, we will be good on the Dline for a while.
Similar things were said about Drew Harris.
Every year he stays in school his value goes down because he's a year older. He may have only been good for half a season but probably would have been a late first/early second rounder had he come out after the 2012 season. He's better off getting the money from the NFL now. Marcus Lattimore had that choice and took the money. Same with Darren Evans, Willis McGahee and scores of other players who suffered major knee injuries in college but still had value to the NFL. If he comes back to college next year and lights it up it will be devalued because he'll be competing against players younger and less physically developed. It really only makes sense to come back to college if he just can't play any longer.
This is why you are the best.
I listened to the show. It was a question from a fan. Beamer kind of hemmed and hawed about it. I don't think he knew the sixth year rule off hand.
Exum cannot get a sixth year because he has not missed two years with injuries. He had a normal redshirt as a freshman. The NCAA is very rigid on this stance.
Woo buddy, wait a minute.cj reavis could be better than fisher...without the headcase.
I think it's that "as healthy as possible" bit that makes me really want him to stay. That's a long time away from the football field after a long recovery process. I don't like the thought of his first game back from that being as a rookie trying to make an NFL roster.
I see him being a natural successor to Kyshoen Jarrett
At Fork Union right now, he will be a Hokie don't worry.
With all the talk about future DB's, does anyone have any idea what's going to happen with Holland Fisher? He was supposed to be a baller...
How would that compare with Miami's Morris or Renner of UNC? Do they have the option to attempt these deep balls?
then you wouldn't be able to make comments and be snarky with team names.

Motley or Ford will have to play lights out to start ahead of Leal. Leal can do everything Thomas can do, and will have a full year of watching/learning the new system under Loeffler, and playing whenever possible. But, If Ford or Motley do win the starting job, we can trust that they must be very, very good.
