I love my Virginia and DC area schools (Richmond, Hampton, VT, George Mason, ODU, Georgetown, George Washington, George etc, not MD anymore, I'll root for ACC sometimes if the other VA team is playing MD) so I was really hoping Richmond would pull that game out. When I saw NC State hit that last field goal on the ESPN bottomline, my heart sank a little. Oh well, #goacc

This was a hilarious game to watch. I'm actually really glad there was a weather delay so I could watch most of it instead of watching the ND and OK games. The announcers were spectacular.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the score was already 40-21 and the announcers were talking about BYU's approximately 500 rushing yards. They said something like, "BYU has set the record today for most rushing yards against Texas in the history of the Texas program. And we are just now starting the fourth quarter. They've already demolished the record in three quarters". And every time they ran the ball after that, the announcers kept on saying that NOW they've set the record for most rushing yards against Texas.

I could feel the tail-between-our-legs, please-have-mercy-on-us attitude of the entire state of Texas through the TV. Even the BYU fans stopped cheering (it was in Provo) through the fourth quarter, seemingly out of pity. I've never seen a team so inept at stopping the run. They looked demoralized.

Der'Woun Greene is a safety, too, right? I think I noticed him being athletic on special teams last week. With him and Frye getting backup snaps, having three corners now (prior to the return of Saint Exum) means we're pretty much two deep at every position in the secondary. And the D line. I'm pretty happy about that.

According to SI box score, we held them to 162 total net yards. Means we're averaging 184 yards per game on defense. 19 points per game. Not bad.

But no, we aren't going to be ranked when other teams are undefeated and beat lesser competition. Penn State just beat Eastern Michigan by about the same score and beat Syracuse (0-2) last week. We'll have to be 4-1 or so until we get ranked, unless we beat Marshall and ECU in dominating fashion.

I've heard Mack Brown is a brilliant recruiter (I think I would be too if I had the Longhorn brand and the state of Texas at my disposal) and a hell of a politician. As happy as I am with Texas being bad, I think he's like a TimeCop case. As long as the team is being managed the way the university wants, he'll still be around.

I didn't see the end of that game, but USCw is a joke. Can't hit screen passes, can barely defend Washington State. Lane Kiffin is all sizzle and no steak. That program is on the way back to its pre-Carroll days.

Prolly not until we get some ACC wins unless alot of 15-25 ranked teams start dropping like flies

This is awesome. I'm not an oregon fan, but I would have gone over and joined their section. The Hoos Not Paying Attention is awesomely hilarious. I can't even...

Good recap, thanks Blue Collar.

I mentioned this in another post, but College Football games, GameDay, ATH, and PTI are the only things I tune into ESPN for. And I've even stopped ATH and PTI just because I'm busy. GameDay has fallen off a bit because I need to use Saturday mornings for productive stuff around the house.

But one thing that no one has been able to compete with is the GameCast stat pages ESPN puts together. I use them all the time and haven't found a live game stat feed that compares to it.

ESPN used to love us. They were all about the Hokies from 04-07ish. But we could never win in big games so they moved on to the next one.

Who still watches the four-letter for anything but games??? It has devolved into nothing but a propaganda machine serving its own agenda and scripted hype....a pimp for college football 's whores. I quit paying any attention to them years ago.

I'm seriously trying to get to the UVSuck game. I would love to see the #DecadeOfDominance happen in person

Ah yes, I forgot about how ridiculously overrated Texas is/was.

We might not be ranked until Miami (assuming they're ranked when we beat them). I'm fine with that.

Cannot wait to be in hooville for 11/30. Even if I cant get tickets, im going just to support the Hokies and throw a ball in the parking lots.

If there's one thing that UVa has on us this year, it is their home schedule. Home games vs. BYU, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Clemson and VT. If they can't put butts in seats for that lineup, they need to shut down the program and move on.

There were UVa fans at the tailgate?

Also, I think I have enough info to establish an early line on the Decade of Dominance game. If Alabama and Oregon are at about the same level (despite their very different styles of play), we should be 24 point favorites on 11/30 based on relative margins of defeat.

In the end, that's the death knell for London:
If you can't put fans in the seats, even for a #2 exciting Oregon team, then its hard to justify the coach, product.
Money, or lack of, talks.

Regarding London's statement, you could insert WCU's head coach and that statement would still be applicable. Is he equating UVa's program with one that simply provides an opportunity for good teams to come in and play? Weak.
