We have those exact ones in the Navy too!
Yes, I just rewatched the first drive. We used him on 1st and 3rd down, neither time did he gain a yard, but both times he tried to lower the boom.
This is how I feel about Wisconsin
Weaver had admitted to playing a large roll in the Thursday night thing, I wouldn't blame ESPN for that.
ESPN is about two things, ratings and money, which really go hand-in-hand. They're always going to follow the "it" teams. That's why they always talk about the Yankees, Lakers, Cowboys, Heat, etc. We can hate them all we want for it, but it's just good for business.
We were offered a buy-out because it benefited CFA and ESPN both if somebody coming off a better season played Bama, it's just more ratings. I'm happy we didn't back out though, we should never back down from anyone.

2) It was a catch
3) Maybe when, who was it, Oklahoma went to USC and that on side kick happened?
4) PI against Miami, MNC vs OSU

If we're keeping it in Texas, I'll throw Baylor out there as well. They're on a shortened upward trend, but I guess we'd have to wait a few years to see if they really sustain it.
I get ESPN-they are pure profiteers. (whores)
It's all about the money, baby.
And if they had what they thought was a better matchup ratings-wise, (ie profit) then they would sell their soul TODAY, and do the same tomorrow.
What I have a bigger issue with is how much control ESPN would have in affecting scheduling/match-ups and how the NCAA just allows it. If anyone thought that there is ANY shred of concern for/representation of the 'student-athlete' by ESPN and/or the NCAA, here's your proof otherwise. What a farce.
Beyond anything else, I want to see a fire under these guys this week. They should take some pride in shaming a team like WCU. In the past it's seemed like these games were approached more from the "Let's just get through this week and on to next" mentality.
You're right, Joe. If this game isn't a laugher by halftime, then we have underperformed. Hoping to see good things, can't wait to get my tailgate on!!!!
I defy anyone to mention "dry rub" after this picture.
One problem with your suggestion...the CFA Kickoff wouldn't be a conference game. It's meant to be a premier OOC matchup. So A&M is a no. Word on the street and around the interwebs is/was Louisville.
I don't know how VT's D will stack up against other SEC team's D, but we do know Bud Foster has laid a blueprint to stopping Alabama. However, I don't think any SEC D is using the slanting/stunting technique. Anthony Steen said after the game: "Virginia Tech was constantly moving sideways, and I like to come straight at you." To me, this suggests he had no idea how to handle Bud's slanting concepts. Will someone else stop Alabama this year? Maybe, but it'll probably require greater athletes than Alabama's athletes.
I do think, however, with the slate VT plays this year, they should end up with a top 5 (maybe top 1 or 2) D. They do play some of the best offenses (Marshall, ECU, UNC, and Miami), but none of these teams should be able to handle that defensive line. I guess we'll see.
Play Tennessee at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Same here, more than ready for what is forecasted to be a gorgeous day in Blacksburg.
I'll be the guy in orange though.

HERE! HERE!
WF at BC -3.5 - Wake beat Presbyterian last week pretty convincingly after being down early, so BC should be no issue for them. Going with the Deacs.
UF -2.5 at da U - Miami still isn't back, regardless of what people want to believe, they have to prove it to me. Taking the Gators.
Oregon -21.5 at uva - I hate to say it but UVA looked goo.....i mean....not too awful against BYU. But they will be lucky to keep it within 35 this week. Quack quack bitches.
Sakerlina at UGA -3.5 - UGA comes out and proves that they are still a national title contender after a tought loss last week. USC didn't impress me that much against the other Carolina. GO DAWGS!!!
wvu at OU -20.5 - WVU almost lost to W&M and now they get Oklahomoa...NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! WVU covers, but just.
ND at Michigan -3.5 - Michigan is out to prove that ND has no business being mentioned among the top tier teams this year. Michigan wins going away.
Bring on whoever. Because now we have the coaches who will coach the players up to their fullest potential. And once we get 2-3 full classes in we'll be unstoppable.
He speaks the truth. He won't be working for ESPN very much longer if he keeps that up.
Instead of a sledgehammer, we use Sam Rogers.

Their D-line is tiny. We should line it up and just drive it down their throats every single play. Think of it as a piece of meat that needs to be tenderized. But instead of the conventional meat tenderizer you use a sledgehammer. Sure you mix in some play action every once in a while. But ground and pound them into submission.

Always liked Matich. If there is someone who can find a way to reduce the yardage gained by Alabama, it's Blacksburg dad.
