Clemson needs to fix their tackling and maintaining the gap. They have let Gurley get loose far too often, which was why it was a back and forth until UGA goofed on a FGA last night. The amount of field spacing given up by Clemson's defense was comical and Murray was exploiting it. Still, it was a good win for Clemson who is pretty much a lock, in my eyes at least, to claim for the title come December. By title, I am talking about the ACC, not the national championship because it takes one loss, and the ACC won't have a representation in the NCG discussion thanks to ESPN hyping up the SEC.

UNC's loss to South Carolina was not shocking. It was the manner in the way they lost. Their defensive front was decimated because of the weight and power difference between the grunts in the trenches. South Carolina had a weight advantage over UNC and the result was not very pretty. If Virginia Tech can continue making strides with the defense and offense, I expect for us to avenge last year's loss in Chapel Hill in a vintage Hokies fashion.

And then the older white fellow behind him in the cap shaking his head, while the black lady behind him is slack-jawed.
Beautiful through many levels of the crowd.

One issue we need to get fixed is delay of the game. That is what drove me nuts.

Exactly. The above argument that we should have had 5 scoring drives would require our offense to be as good against Alabama as they were against Bowling Green last year. Our offense hasn't been that consistent in a long time. The D played lights out, but we were never anywhere close to having this game, I'm sorry to say. Losses hurt, but of all of the defeats I've suffered, this one stings the least.

Easy buddy. That was not the 6 and 7 Pitt Panthers we lost to last night. I'd be happy if we could compete for an ACC championship this year, and last night's performance gives me hope that we can do that.

I don't think they are content with a loss at all.
I think that they are focused on getting better and are already getting ready for the next game.

Lunch pail, baby! Buck up and get back to work.

Maybe you guys forget why Tyrod didn't redshirt in '08? Oh and this pro-glennon stuff has to stop

Our defense did play well enough to win last night, but our offense was no-where near where it needed to be to win. We should not have won that game, because our offense just isn't that good. There's no need to get angry about that, though. The team showed a lot of potential, and Bama is an exceptional team.

From what I saw, we can also ease Exum back into playing on terms best for his future and the team's. The last thing I want to see, are any more injuries, or someone to hurt themselves again, who could play in the NFL.

Who loves ya' baby?
I freakin' love how nasty the D-line was playing last night. (and Jack Tyler-he was blowin' up behind the L.O.S. often last night; he might as well have been playing on the D-line.)

Did last night. He Retweeted it as a matter of fact

There's a good chance we play NO ranked teams the rest of this regular season. Maybe, hopefully in Charlotte, but the fact of the matter is we don't have the Strength of Schedule this year.

You know what? I thought without RVD our LB corps would have struggled, but I didn't notice anything untoward about their performance. DiNardo and Trimble may not have been Tyler-level studs, but it looks like our linebacking corps will do fine. Especially with the support our secondary and defensive line can give them. I was surprised they didn't attack the linebackers much, but Tariq Edwards played well, and the other guys were just fine. And they'll only get better.

I was stoked seeing some true freshman contribute mightily for the Hokies.
I used to wonder why other teams seemed to have some freshman play big time, and we did it last night.
Ke. Fuller and Edmunds were awesome to watch.

I like the direction that we are going, (but at the same time, it's frustrating that this wasn't done a few years ago. Oh, well.)

They punted what 8-9 times last night? Our defense held them the whole game. They gave up two tds and we only scored 10 measly points. If we scored on 5 of those drives we would have been in the game regardless of the special teams mistakes. We punted 12 times last night. That's why we never came back to tie it. You act like bama was just running away w the game, they weren't. We should have won that game last night.

This is true, but Saban has two weeks to get ready for a&m, then they will be heavily favored in every game until November 9 against LSU. If they prepare for a&m, who doesn't have anything near our defense, Saban will fix it all before November.

I dont know...I think this team can go 11-1 possibly 12-1 depending on bowl opponent...I know there is a lot of football to be played but I finally saw an offense that can move the ball and was in 3rd and shorts...I dont think we will play another defense as good as Bama's....Also I assume no major injuries to key players and that our offense improves week to week..
