With very few exceptions, if it hits the hands, it's catchable. If Logan takes something off the throw, the timing of the route is off and it doesn't actually get to the receiver. If it's in his hands, that means the timing was right. I remember when the WR's were adjusting to Logan, Boykin's gloves were splitting because he was throwing so hard. If it were a problem, Loeffler would have fixed it. Logan's mechanics were much better, so the speed of the throws is probably fine. If the ball hits you in the hands, chest, or face, it's catchable.

This game provided a glimmer of hope that finally, for the first time in a long time, the offense will be evenly matched with the defense

The offense still has a long way to go before it gets on the level of the defense. There are some glaring deficiencies on some parts of the 1st string offense. Deficiencies that will prevent our offense from having a solid, balanced attack. We simply weren't ready for this game on offense, and I think we might need more dynamic playmakers to solve it. That will only be solved with better recruiting which may be a long process.

Educate me. Should a receiver catch every ball that touches his hands? It seems to me every ball Logan throws packs full heat...is that a good thing, or should he have more "touch" and add only the minimum heat needed for the situation? In other words, are tonight's drops all on the receivers?

Receivers will get better. This D will be something special. Edmunds is going to be amazing and even better yet, it seems as if he has a good O-line.

I think this is a major point to reference to our defense: We were the first time to hold Bama to under 100 rushing yards since the LSU 9-6 game in 2011. I think that is something we should be happy to build on. This also means that Trey Edmunds outrushed the entire Bama team. Another thing we should be happy to build on. (We actually evened out with Bama's offense, us 212 to their 206. Not the best thing, to have more offense than lose, but something to note)

Preach it man. This defense is ridiculous and so is Edmunds. O-line was surprisingly good too. A lot of positives. Can't wait for next week!

We'll have to wait and see next week what gets fixed. I'm sure he will pick it up.

That was eloquent. I think the word that needs to be stressed is patience. Like you said, the offence isn't going to improve overnight. But at least now we are finally take steps to improve it. The only thing that worries me at this point in the special teams

I will be just as excited for next week but I am still pointing fingers. Knowles' 4-5 drops were horrid and Coles gave up on a route that led to a pick 6. I point the finger more and Coles because that is an effort thing. I know Knowles was giving his all so my response for him is to catch some extra balls every day in practice. His speed is needed but is useless if he doesn't catch it.

I like the design, I just don't like the colors. The subtle orange/maroon stripe is cool. Just replace gray with maroon, and the maroon numbers for white, and you have yourself a fine-looking uniform.

i thought the overall vibe (at least on this site anyway) was optimistic.

I took a lot of good away from the game

obviously some bad too, Jesus Christ our receiving core..

but I'm thrilled for this upcoming season.
