Tried to find a clip of the scene from Varsity Blues where they kill the clock by throwing at the other teams mascot, but couldn't find it on Youtube.

The only motion that will be happening on that pre-play is crap out of the opposing middle linebacker's bungbung.

Maybe it was just the way they cut the clips, made it look like he was in his ear on consecutive plays. It just looked a little uncomfortable between them.

Beamer isn't retiring this year, or next. Period.

Now if we're opening up the argument for who replaces Frank, well...in my opinion that is a tricky business. The obvious choice is Bud, and I LOVE some Bud Foster, but I have my doubts about his head coaching potential.

All dudes can be divided into 2 categories - bosses, and worker bees. I think Bud is one of the most ferocious worker bees ever. There is a reason he hasn't been snatched up as a head coach yet. Especially back when he was tossing out #1 and #2 defenses left and right.

I believe the closest he got to a D-1 job was Clemson. I know for a fact (I have a friend who is a heavy hitter in the Clemson donor crew) that there was a very strong contingent of Tiger faithful who looked at Bud as the 2nd coming of Danny Ford. It was pretty much down to Dabo and Bud, and Dabo was willing to take a lighter payday.

Other than that, there has been little interest. But, it truly may be that Bud can be very picky...especially with his annuity coming due. Just tossing it out there. If/when Bud takes the reins, I will root for him as much as any Hokie going, but, I don't rule out the possibility of it turning into a dumpster fire either.

Stole my post from the other thread. Thief. I'm calling your mother.

Like you said, I think people are saying he has potential because of his past success in these other jobs. He has knowledge of an array of football positions. That's important for a head coach. But, I think it's too early to write him off and say he doesn't have potential. He hasn't been given a chance as a coordinator. The running back rotation last year was terrible, but I doubt there are many coaches who would have succeeded in his position. Running backs had so few holes to begin with, it's tough to put all the blame on him.
Also, would you consider CFB one of the best head coaches? He was only a defensive coordinator for 2 years. One year with The Citadel and the other with Murray St. I know he's just one example, but I don't think being a great head coach requires being proficient as a coordinator first. I think it's difficult to pin down what exactly makes a great coach. Each of those 4 guys brings some different things to their teams that makes them great for different reasons. Maybe Shane has the ability too.

Since they've already covered the whole back I doubt they will be video screens. The pics from the renderings really do suck. At very least make it of players and teams we actually recognize.

Think DJ will be used as a RB at all from under center?

I'm not sure, it's possible. Seems like a waste to me, but who knows.

I think Loeffler will do that more to see how the defense aligns to the I-formation, then motions out of it to run another play. Gives him a cheap way to get a 2-for-1 analysis on the defenses game plan against different formations.

In a pickup game, Alabama wins easy. In a regulation game with refs to pay, USC wins (by a close margin so nobody asks questions.)

Might be just me but I think Beamer came off as a little condescending when talking to Moorehead

What? I'm genuinely confused by this sentiment. Beamer wasn't really admonishing Moorehead or telling him how to do his job, he was just telling Moorehead that he (Beamer) wants to him (Moorehead) to reiterate with the WR's to catch the ball at it's highest point. He then explains why he wants to focus on that.

IMO that's pretty textbook business-leadership. These guys are professionals making six figure salaries. If Moorehead can't handle those type of exchanges then he's in the wrong line of work.

Punt on first down. Not a fake, either. Then the returner gets leveled, fumbles, and the long snapper returns it for a touchdown. #21stCenturyBeamerball

One of the beat writers noticed this too (can't remember if it was Andy Bitter or Mike Barber) and suggested that whoever edited the video couldn't find any Loeffler clips without any profanity. Which would also make sense.

Worth it. If/when I have children, I'm whipping out my phone in the delivery room and blasting Enter Sandman. If my wife isn't ok with it, she wasn't right for me anyways.

Lack of consistency by the NCAA? I'm shocked. Almost as if there should be a standard adhered too, but instead it's just people in a room deciding who's in and who's out.

Wait, that's just the basketball tournament selection committee.

Negative ghost rider: you really want the doctors and nurses jumping up and down and screaming instead of delivering your baby?
