I'm surprised he was suspended at all. Same situation as Cam Newton. Financially the NCAA knew that it would be too damaging to them, aTm, ESPN, and the rest of the media to sit him for a long period of time. No way he was going to sit a long time unless they had a literal pic/video of him accepting the cash
Building on Mason's comment, there are two primary non-mechanical issues that Logan needs to improve upon last season.
The first is something that most regard as a minor thing: cadence. Yes, that simple "HUT HUT" that each of us that played any level of football from the schoolyard on up can recall vividly. A good quarterback can use cadence as a weapon on the field. Changing pitch and patterns of delivery throws off the timing of the defense, which is attempting to anticipate the snap. A subtle change in cadence can buy a five yard offsides penalty, or it can cause a defense to hesitate, giving a blocker an advantage.
One observation from watching Logan live in front of small crowds is that his cadence is incredibly monotone. Accordingly, last season defenders seemed to be able to anticipate the snap count and beat the blocker off the ball. I am hopeful that Loeffler has been focused on improving this seemingly fundamental part of the game.
Second, and perhaps more glaring, is a bad presnap habit that defenses capitalized on last season. During the Pitt film review, we noticed that the Panthers quickly shifted defensive alignments after Logan stopped his presnap read and looked at the center. It became abundantly clear that the defenders were using that as a key, and that Logan was not seeing the last second shift in the defense. It also helped create a rhythm for anticipating snap count. Logan barks signals, eyes the defensive alignment, head down 1, 2, 3 GO. The defense clearly had his pacing down pat.
I have a two year track record of stating that Logan has the ability to be the best quarterback in Hokie history. I hope that Loeffler has rebuilt his confidence and helped him get over some of the problems he had last season.

Six Pick - A tradition unlike any other. Yeah, you heard me Jim Nantz! This is college football so take gin and tonics and azaleas and GFY. This is the real tradition, food that will kill you, enough booze to kill you and cheering for a team that when it loses, pretty much kills you. CFB is back, BCO is back and the season is upon us.
I am picking the Thursday games now, will hit up the Saturday games when I am Friday drunk as opposed to Wednesday buzzed.

There has been a lot of talk about South Cakalaky. Actually the talk is all about Clowney's hit. Clowney don't play QB. Clowney don't play RB. Their defense is good but everyone is picking them very high this year. Even though its the right state but the wrong school, I am picking a clemsoning of this game by OBC.
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt made a rare appearance in the Fulmer Cup race and has gained some cred around the SEC ranks. Sadly they had to kick off half their team because of this. Ole Miss signed everyone, I mean everyone last year. Even my mom is redshirting. Teams do struggle playing at Vandy, at least the 4 games or so I have watched being played there, but I think Ole Miss and their 74 5-Stars will prevail and cover.
Beer of this evening is Full Sail Bohemian Lager. I will be going out looking for something special for #BeatBama. Until then....

Just remember, everyone looks terrible in the middle of a haircut. I'll wait to see the completed design before passing judgment. The effect the new board has in terms of video playback and audio should also play heavily into the decision of whether or not it is a travesty, I think.

With past excellent designs such as the football locker rooms, the press boxes, south endzone etc etc etc... the bar has been set VERY HIGH in terms of design for HOKIE sports... this design surpasses disapointment and is a complete and utter travesty. At best, all we can hope for now is that it is some sick, cruel joke! Seriously.

I agree he isn't ready yet. I was (rather poorly) trying to explain that we shouldn't disregard him as a possible head coach in the future. Being ready now and having potential are two very different things. I believe he isn't ready, but definitely has the potential to be a good head coach in the future.
