I wonder if any freshmen are actually reading this or if it's just us old folks reliving the glory days

Mike Vick, Nick Foles, or Matt Barkley.

Duh.

Now that's a VT bucket list. I got 9/10, though I think it's legitimate to substitute Molly's Knob (further away from Blacksburg) and the top of Dragon's Tooth for McAfee's Knob.

I've yet to play the River Course, but I still have my student ID as well as my wage ID, so if anyone ever wants to play, I'm down for a round.

Just remember that no point during your college life will suck as bad as the real world after college.

Seemed like everyone in my dorm always went out on Wednesday nights, not Tuesdays or Thursdays. Not entirely sure why.

Hmm... I failed to complete the list while in school, but now that I'm back in Blacksburg for work I might have to finish the half I didn't get to in college.

Or do like I did and spend a year in Chicago before moving back to the NRV.

Protip: Empo seats aren't technically assigned, even if they tell you one. Any computer outside of the proctored area and certain other pods should let you log in regardless.

Try to sit near the fire exit doors on the left side if possible.

To #9... this is too true. I hate to say it, but on the weekends, after coming back from a night out, some of my buddies would just go around and take unlocked bikes and ride them back to their halls.

RE: days off: I managed to get through all 4 years/8 semesters only having class 5 days a week once. The other 7: MTuWTh x3, TuWTh x1, MWF x3. It was fantastic.

1 fan blowing in and 1 fan blowing out is pretty much the same thing as AC. Just because you can't open the windows all the way doesn't mean you can't put fans in them.

My point as well. If it was calls incomplete then I should have stood and just the same it was called a catch and video wasn't conclusive. TD coale we won that's how I remember it

I would really like that, I miss my weekly drillfield football.

1. KEEP YOUR DORM ROOM DOOR OPEN. My first day of school, a girl who lived 2 doors down stopped and asked how my day went. We talked, and in closing she said "Ok honey! Have a great rest of the day! Love you!" and I said "Thanks, love you too!" then turned to my roommate and said "Why did I just tell that girl I love her? I don't even know her!". That girl is now one of my best friends and a bridesmaid in my wedding.

2. Schedule classes so that you will actually attend them. Morning person? Go for it. Afternoon person? 2-3:30 classes are the shit. I graduated in 3.5 years with a major and a minor WITH NEITHER AN 8AM CLASS NOR A FRIDAY CLASS. It is possible.

3. Major flex, for boys and girls. Girls on my hall had minor flex and usually didn't have enough money to go to West End.

4. Find off-campus housing for the next academic year in January or February. That shit goes quick.

5. Fuck everything (I mean that literally and figuratively). You can't do this in the real world, especially not after you move back in with your parents.

6. GO TO ALL OF THE FOOTBALL GAMES AND BE LOUD.
6a. Face the field, not your friend behind you.
6b. Don't bring booze in with you - they come after students, not alumni.
6c. BE LOUD. (again)
6d. Know when to cheer and what to cheer for.
6e. No booing our team.
6f. NO PAPER FUCKING AIRPLANES. If you see someone throw a paper airplane, do not cheer. A dirty look or just saying "dude, we're here for the game" might work.
6g. It's a football game, not a fashion show, ladies.
6h. Do not leave early. You never know...
6i. DO NOT walk around with open containers and beware of undercover ABC cops on gamedays. Usually wearing a VT tshirt and a black backpack.

7. GO TO BASKETBALL GAMES. You have not lived until you've nearly passed out from the lack of oxygen in Cassell.

8. Take road trips and be spontaneous. This is the only time in your life in which you'll have the freedom and opportunity.

9. Going drinking? Have DINNER and some water before you go. Highly recommend a few cups of water while you're out to avoid hangovers, but you're 18 and will ignore this advice until you're 25. Typical drinking days include, but are not limited to: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. (Boozeday Tuesday is the tits)

10. YOVTO. You only Virginia Tech once. Do it big and with no regrets. Really think hard on those nights when you "just don't feel like going out". Looking back in 2 months, 2 years, 2 decades, will you wish you had made the absolute most of it?

Never dump in the same bathroom more than once the first semester. There are some great hidden thrones around campus. This will come in handy when you move off campus..

Do not study in your room. Group studying works great but if you don't, the library or any quiet place on campus works as well.

Wear cowboy boots to football games. You will be surprised at how many airplane bottles of Beam will fit in them..

Be prepared for sudden changes in weather. A sunny late fall morning can quickly change into a sleet filled afternoon.

If College Gameday ever makes it to town, wake up at dawn and pre-game. Then immediately tailgate when it is done at noon. If the game is a night kickoff, keep it going. The perfect blend of moderation will lead to one of the greatest nights of your life.

Go to class. Academic suspension during football season will make you ache inside.

Spend every summer in Blacksburg. You will never regret it.

Sounds like distance is a big factor to him.

Charlotte to Chapel Hill: 140mi.
Charlotte to Blacksburg: 173mi.

What's an extra 33 miles? Haha. It would be great if we could get back in his recruitment. With the new staff, I'm not counting anything out.

Its never to early to go to all the career fairs to network for potential summer internships. Im sure they still have a spring and fall one in Cassell for engineers and construction majors. Go talk to the career center and they can help you get started on resumes and tips for this. You will find it hard to get a job after college without some sort of summer internship while you were in college. I managed to get a job without an internship but I wished i had one now that i think back.

Not saying you have to do this the first week. But start on it early! You have been warned!

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. JMU has apparently surpassed them though.

Note: Get to them early. I remember reading that Radford was ranked near the top of the STD rankings for a time.

In the 70's, it used to be an unwritten rule that every male Hokie had to consummate at least one "relationship" with a Radford coed as a prerequisite for graduation. Might as well get it over with early...I did my freshman year!

That's what I like to hear. Hopefully this is the year that Vick finally puts everything together up there. I am absolutely not a Philly fan in any way, shape or form, but if Michael takes the Eagles deep into the playoffs or to the Super Bowl I would be so proud of him and not mad in the slightest.

Can't agree with this more. One of my good friends I met freshman year brought two suitcases of clothes, a football, and his laptop - That's it! Not even a cell phone (this was 2002) Left the bunks up - didn't waste money on the lofts. I learned from him and purged some stuff Spring semester.
