Williams will never be healthy. literally his only healthy year, including high school, ever was his freshman year and thats probably because he had his redshirt year for his body to rest
I agree with you. You would think he'd be able to follow team rules just like every one else. Don't know that he would play a role in Alabama game regardless but glad they are setting tone with players early on in their careers. For your actions there will be consequences unless you are at LSU or the SEC in general.
I am concerned as well but then i remember that we usually end up bringing in receivers all in the same year, young and inexperienced. Royal, Harper, Hyman, Morgan all played as freshman, with clowney being the old man. then Roberts, Coale, and Boykin all came in together. granted a lot of them were more highly touted than this bunch but i have hope
I think Kendall wont be called the fourth Fuller for very long...
Hope he becomes known as the #1 Fuller real soon!
GO HOKIES!
Buffalo in my mind isn't really an option because they just drafted Manuel this year. They will give him at the bare minimum two years before looking to go in a different direction if it doesn't work out. By then I think someone else will of already made a move for Tyrod.
While I agree in thinking that both Tyrod and Cousins will both get a shot at a starting job eventually, in my mind Cousins is the next Kolb, Flynn, or Cassell. A team will over pay for him based on a very small sample size and he will end up turning out very mediocre. In Tyrod's case I think he brings more to the table in terms of athleticism but being a Hokie I may be biased.
I went and watched Newsome's film last night after reading this. The dude has some SERIOUS ball skills. Keep in mind this is against some of the best talent VA has to offer:
Best Fan Base/Away Game Experience - Nebraska, hands down. My wife (girlfriend at that time) and I had tickets from a Nebraska Alum in the middle of their North end zone alumni section. As we were walking up the bleachers all the fans were saying welcome and good luck. At least one guy stepped out and gave my girlfriend a great big hug and said "It's great to see you here". I looked at her and was like - Do you know him? Is there something you should be telling me? As good Hokies, we stood and cheered the whole game (especially on defense) and the folks around me didn't get frustrated with that. I was even impressed with how nice their fans were when they called into the sports talk radio show after the game. Lots of "Our boys played their hearts out but just got beat on a couple of plays", "How can we make the team better". Nobody was calling for heads of coaches or saying the refs blew the game or anything. Very polite
Worst - Away Game Experience - UMD, We were Hokie fans in the middle of the UMD student section (not the wisest choice but that's where my tickets were). It was the only time I've had things thrown at me. We even moved to stand next to another group of Hokie fans for safety in numbers.
I've also had bad/annoying experiences with Duke fans at Duke. Couple of drunkards followed me and my wife for a bit grumbling about "wait for basketball season, who cares if you've won at football"
Consider me very concerned about the WR position this year. Some very young, unproven guys (some making recent position changes) are going to have to step up.
Such a hard decision. LOL Seinfeld is a classic. Man I wish they would do a reunion show.
I find any fan base that feels the need to burn a bunch of furniture to be classless and obnoxious
Out of those teams, maybe Miami is a good fit. He'd be much better off replacing Cutler in Chicago or Freeman in TB, where he'll have greater chance of success right away. Personally, I'd like him to replace the overrated QB for the Texans.

# | Bitter blog - A Kendall Fuller story and how often true freshmen make an impact at VT Negate that advantage that so many offenses are looking to exploit nowadays.
Would love to see a post about how JC and DJ could be used as mismatches against the Bama Defense coming out of the backfield. French?
That had to be written by a caveman, right? Perhaps we've stumbled upon "the missing link"?
This isn't BAMA but this past year I had one of the most annoying experiences at the UVA game. We were in the South End Zone area and a couple dbag UVA fans were drunk and yelling. A 7 year old boy accidentally bumped into them walking from the restroom by the concessions and the UVA fan proceeded to curse his father and him out. A fight almost broke out between them but the father had more respect for his kid and luckily a gray haired Hokie fan probably in his late 60s to early 70s and his wife calmed him down but then became aggressive toward them. I wanted to get into it myself if it went beyond that buy my wife told me to walk away from the situation. First of all fans should ALWAYS be respectful of the children at games and give seniors respect. UVA FANS SUCK
London is such a hypocrite. He says he doesnt talk about bowl wins and championships, etcbut then sends out the letter formerly offering a scholarship with that very language in it (no facts to back it upbut thats a different story). Then he says they dont have 20,000 different jerseys and 50 helmetsbut yet last year they wore a bunch of different ones last year (white, orange and navy helmets, white, orange and navy jerseys and at least 2 different pants).
His comments about being a Christian really bother mebeing a Christian is also about being honest. The smoke and mirrors he is promising these recruits is a bold faced lie (read: promised to QBs that he later breaks).
I think this was a noble cause they signed up for. They just didn't realize where home is. If they're 757, it's ODU. If they're talking VA, then there is only one...
This guy.
Not really a bad experience, but definitely funny. After we beat ECU in 2010 some ECU fan started screaming on our way out "At least we didn't lose to JMU". After he did that about 5 times I looked at him and said, "Yea, but we just beat you. So what does that mean about your team?" He stopped talking after that.
Also, not football related but El Salvador fans during the Gold Cup who were screaming at people to sit down in spanish. Since we're not a spanish speaking country most Americans didn't understand them, so in order to get them to understand these El Salvador fans decided to chuck full beers at them. Friggin morons.

This is from HokieSports.com, "It was a bit surprising to see Deon Newsome getting a lot of reps at receiver, but the Hokies lack depth after moving Caleb to tailback. Then, on Thursday, Charley Meyer tweaked a hamstring and sat out much of the latter half of practice, so guys like Deon Newsome and freshman Carlis Parker, who enrolled last January, saw more reps than usual."
Just a guess, but Parker might have done the best job filling in for Meyer.

I grew up a die-hard Stanford football fan (Dad and grandparents went there in the 70's and 50's), and I can say, I'm not shocked in the least. For the first 17 years of my life (1990-2007), I missed only a handful of games, even though most years, we really sucked. The stands were empty and the fans who did show up had an average age of around 92. It took a donor buying 5000 tickets to give away to the students in 2008(ish?) to get anyone in school to actually go to the games. That, in addition to the fact that you pretty much have to know someone and be Jesus incarnate to even have a shot to get in (They have about a 6% accept rate), makes behavior like what you witnessed all too common. Point is: don't expect too many people who actually know football to be walking around in a Stanford shirt. Unless they're around 58, in which case that might be my dad, so watch yourself, punk.

Odds we see substantially more Double Tight packages because Mccray and Malleck with Perez-Means seem to be a bit of a strength when compared to the inexperienced wideouts?
