I would say that the best fans I've been around is either Nebraska or Clemson and the worst are West Virginia and Miami.
How about chill with the revenge on KU because.....it's Kansas, who gives a shit. If we played them again, VT could say, 'Hey, we finally got revenge on Kansas for beating us that one time! Yay, right?' and the rest of the world would say, 'You played Kansas? And they beat you? How embarrassing that must have been.'
Does anyone know of a Hokie Bar in the Columbia/Odenton/Ellicott City MD area?
I'd just like to throw out this quote for any recruits deciding between VT and LOLUVA
"If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?" - Vince Lombardi
Fuller Bros FTW
To be fair, I can't blame a kid for having those things appeal to him.
But with that being said, that's also not the mentality of someone who wants to win titles and be a star in college, or at the next level. It all goes back to why UVA is UVA and will never be a winning program until they change their values.
This is not to say that having charachter isn't important, just saying there's other aspects that need to be considered.
This really stood out to me...
"Hes just being real, Harold said about London. Hes not coming at you with the rings, the bowl wins, the 20,000 jersey combinations, the 50 helmets. Hes just being straight up. Hes telling you what his life is all about, what hes been through. Hes religious and thats one reason I came here, to further myself and to become a better man. I figured he would be the best person to help me grow."
That'd work, too. I grew up not to far from Las Cruses and have quite a few friends there. I went to school closer to Albuquerque though, so I identify more with the Lobos. And I think the Lobos might have a better chance of fielding a respectable team by 2016. Really hoping Bob Davie turns things around over there.
hah nope, actually UNM is 505. The rest of the state is 575, so I guess NMSU would be the closest D1 school. Really, I would just like an excuse to go to NM, and if I'm going out there I would much rather go to Albuquerque than Las Cruses.
I'm confused.
Texas Longhorns?
or
Texas aTm Aggies?
My wife overheard Mike Glennon's name on Sportscenter this morning and immediately screamed, "F--- that guy! Is he related to Sean?" I then proceeded to lay out the case as to why, in hindsight, a lot of people were a little extreme in their vitriol for Sean Glennon's tenure at Tech. I have wondered for while what his career might have been like had he been behind a solid, well-coached offensive line. I'm not trying to start a conversation regarding the reasons why Glennon did and did not succeed, but I think we can all agree one of the reasons why Tyrod's redshirt was burned in consecutive seasons was because Glennon lacked the mobility to survive behind that O-line.
ummm, would you like some horsey sauce with your bag of oats?
anybody? anybody?
That wouldn't accomplish anything. There is no revenge for that game. They're not gonna care if we beat them 100-0 next time we play because they beat us one time.
The worst experience I had was the Clemson game in 2007. After destroying the Tigers on their home turf 41-23, I was walking back to my tailgate and some Clemson fans started hollering at me. Naturally I ignored them and continued walking to not instigate anything. This lead to their fans chucking beer bottles at me. I didn't get hit but was surprised by the lack of character those actions represented. On the other hand, it's better than WVU fans who probably would have peed in the bottles before throwing them.
Hell, I'd love to get revenge on JMU... I know its not a big or important match up, but I still hear shit about that regularly
yeah I completely missed that the Seahawks were playing later! damnit
I'll be at Bailey's bar in the Ballston Commons Mall. I'm hoping it'll be like prior years where a good Hokie turn out occurs. They get bonus points for blasting Enter Sandman through the bar's speakers before kickoff.
Bailey's bar at the Ballston Commons Mall in Arlington, VA seems to be where most Northern Virginia Hokies congregate.
For that game there were GT fans right behind me in the north endzone and they were absolutely untolerable. saying how they hoped Logan and others would get knocked out for the season and such
I find MD fans pretty obnoxious and sometimes pretty classless.
This gives me all of the sads, for you
That's nothing. Here's my neutral site experience: Sugar Bowl x3 (FSU, Auburn, Michigan), CFA Bowl vs UGA, Orange Bowl vs Kansas, FedEx x3 (USC-w, Boise, Cincy), vs ECU in Charlotte, CFA-Kickoff (Bama).
That's 0-5 at bowls and 0-5 at neutral site regular season games.
Oh, and I'll be there this time around.

UVA is too soft of a program to ever be good in Football, even if they do get all the recruits in the world. Their fan base is horrible, and their coaches do a poor job utilizing the talent they have.

Uva and UM are similar in the fact that their stadiums are rarely more than halfway full on gameday... maybe thats the comparison officer london is drawing??
