Completely agree. Hand is not a "dick" because he currently doesn't want to attend Virginia Tech. From what I've gathered, he is actually a very mature high school kid.

Fireball and Angry Orchard (Angry Balls) - taste likes Mott's cinnamon apple sauce. Girly drink, but damn good.

The 2 back punt return gave us Jarrett's huge return against Pitt. The problem is when someone other than Jarrett returned the punt. If Jarrett were to return every punt, that man back there gives the block on the first guy so there's no block in the back penalty and gives Jarrett room to make his move.

Am I the only one that absolutely despises the two back punt return formation. Jarrett is a play make put him back there alone with one guy 10 yards in front for blocking purposes. Hated seeing Michael Holmes returning anything. Was too hesitant to be a returner

For the record I'm also not for calling any recruits dicks or bashing them in a public forum or social media or whatever. That's over the line and only reflects badly on Virginia Tech as fans and perceived representatives of the school. I'll add that I personally think it's a little ridiculous that fanbases even follow high school kids on twitter, but I guess I've seen where kids are impressed but how much "love" they get on social media. Whatever floats everyone's boat I suppose.

As excited about kendall fuller as I am. Teller is the guy I'm the most excited about in that class. Think he should have been a 5 star and has the potential to be an absolute monster. As good as he can be on the oline (French) it would give me all of the sads to see us possibly lose a monster on the dline

I love me some fireball. Also stuff tastes great mixed with Dr pepper as does american honey

I agree about the naivety to PEDs. I think 100% of NCAA teams have players who takes PEDs and suspect it's far more widespread than most people think. As BCH alluded to, today's PEDs are so undetectable that even Lance Armstrong never technically failed a drug test and plenty of MLB players who were known to use never failed either despite having what is regarded as the toughest drug testing policy out of the major American sports. PED testing in the NCAA is light years behind and the pressure to perform continues to soar higher than ever in college football. If you don't think these players, who have time restrictions, are doing anything they can to get an edge, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

When I moved out to Chicago, I always picked up a few (read: 3+) cases of Yuengling every time I came back to VA, just to have some vestige of my senior year.

He very well may have been giving a smoke reason as to why he didn't want to come here. I was upset about it and it sucks, but I don't think chastising and 17 year old kid because he doesn't want to come here is really called for.

It's recruiting, for all we know, after the season starts, he falls back in love with Foster and his #1 ranked D, sees Teller mash, that Nnadi and Walker committed, and #decadeofdominance and then decides to become a Hokie.

True true. Still no need in calling a recruit a dick or anything. If a kid doesn't want to be a Hokie then I don't want them to be. Free up that scholly for a kid that truly wants to be a part of our family and tradition.

Yeah, the idea that a top 5 recruit nationally (or any recruit, for that matter) would eliminate a school based solely on a minor difference in a potential field of study is ridiculous. Hand didn't want to come to Virginia Tech, but I'd bet a lot of money that the lack of a sports marketing major wasn't the deciding factor.

I actually think he is around to stay. They just brought in a nearly retired coach to mentor him. And as you said he is pulling 5 star recruits and unfortunately dominating the 757. The AD said over the summer that he is not even close to being on the hot seat.

I actually believe they are trying to build a program. Bringing in a coach they can count on to stay and not move on. Give that coach the time he needs to build something lasting, give him the personnel he needs to help him and build a program without outright throwing money at the problem. Just look at Dabo Sweeney. That dude surrounds himself with better coaches but manages the program well. This is what they want with London.

I think they are going to give him at least 2 full recruiting cycles to build. And since LOLUVA fans don't care about football or winning he will never have the pressure other coaches get at real programs.

Stated this in other threads but there's no way I'm buying this. You mean a "marketing" major while playing football at a major D1 program doesn't offer enough connections to get into the "sports" variety of marketing? An undergrad degree in sports marketing is going to have the exact same basic concepts/classes as the standard marketing degree for the most part (up until at least junior year, if not more, I'd suspect).

I think the kid was being polite when he offered that as the reason for not choosing Tech and probably decided he wanted to go out of state. That's perfectly fine as well, but I don't buy the whole "don't offer his major" thing at all.

I told him on twitter to spare us the crocodile tears. He knew VT didn't have his major from day 1. What he did to VT was no different in my mind from what Andrew Brown did.

Idk, if you live up in the northeast I could see you wanting to stay put. And, their on-campus dining features lobster and other various seafood. I know we have some too, but that's their specialty.
