I agree that he had to make the catch based on the fact that he was watching Tyrod scramble and everyone is just trying to get open. I just feel bad for Boykin who got robbed essentially.

I do believe some of our problems are the location of our campus. We are in the mountains not close to any real city. Roanoke is nearby but that is no draw. Blacksburg is a very small town and that might turn off some of these players...

Street would be fine with me. If he is raw, we have some depth at DE for him to develop. Getting Teller last year was huge. Getting at least 1 of the 2 DTs in Nnadi and Brown is very important though

In that instance, Wilson had to catch the ball, he is running looking at the QB in scramble mode. He doesn't know who is behind him because the routes have been abandoned. If he can me the catch, he has to there.

#IwasatVTbefore, during, and after Zima had it's brief moment of popularity. For a few months seemed the stuff was everywhere (unfortunately). I was so happy when that fad died and everyone went back to drinking the Beast.

I just feel bad for Boykin here. Yeah, Wilson made a great play, but it was unnecessary considering Boykin's position. Luckily, Boykin had the awareness not to go for the ball as well, otherwise that may not have been a completion. The important part of that play was Tyrod's awareness, but it wouldn't have been looked at as such a great play if Boykin had been the one to catch it because he had positioning to make an easy catch.

From your game analysis:
"A play or two later, he broke to the outside and as the linebacker closed in on him and the sideline, he squared up, planted his foot then spun back to the sideline leaving the defender grabbing air! His final (and best) completion was the well-thrown touchdown to his receiver running a post."

Your description of this play reminded me of Tyrod in the Orange Bowl:

I don't think he meant intentionally do bad guys, he just wants to take the highest of the 3 sat scores that's a very common practice of high school seniors, especially athletes going d1 to take it multiple times

Every time I see a picture of Moorehead, I have to remind myself that he isn't Vince Vaughn. I hope Cornwell liked

Welcome to the club!

From one Mid-Atlantic Hokie Architect to another, Welcome!

Don't know if anyone noticed or it's just me, but there's a time-lapse video posted on Hokiesports of the Lane Stadium board being taken apart. It's interesting to see the modular construction being removed piece by piece.

It's been a long time since visiting hokiesports.com so this video could be weeks old.... but it's new to me!

Yeah, I can't disagree. I'd like to be able to hang our collective hats on a Myron Rolle type kid though.

Yeah I think Holmes is done. He'll be reinstated but I think this will always follow him.

I don't think what he did deserved the punishment he's facing. The article states that he and his girlfriend were being followed by his ex, and that the ex assaulted his girlfriend. I suppose I filled in the blanks in my mind, imagining that the ex was following the two of them and harassing them (starting a confrontation) prior to assaulting the gf. I can't imagine a world where you can follow someone around, assault them, and then get paid. You shouldn't be able to get yourself into trouble and then claim it is someone else's fault.

If I were Holmes's girlfriend, I'd sue for $39k for harassment, stalking, assault, and battery. Then pass the money to pay off the hospital bill and lawsuit. If the lawsuit goes through at all.

Now, if Holmes intentionally broke his ex's nose with malicious aforethought, then GTFO of my university.

As far as the other guy is concerned, the way the Post article reads sounds right. If you are threatened by someone you're allowed to defend yourself (or others, if justified) as long as the threat remains. But it sounds like Holmes continued to pound him after the guy quit (willingly or not).

Still can't really discern from these details what Antoine Barnes did overall. Why did he get involved and what did he do? Also still not sure how Ciara Simms got her face borked. Would need to know this detail before judging Holmes.

Ugly situation. Will play poorly in the press no matter what the details say.

Welcome to the discussion. Note: you get a lot of turkey legs when you post creative images. Does anyone know who the elder statesmen (stateswomen) of the site are? Who are our KeyPlay Yodas?

Well said.

Though awkward, the phone conversation between Hand and Foster was probably less awkward than the conversation between Jawand Blue and Coach Wiles. Then again, I don't think I could ever say "No" to Coach Foster without peeing myself. But that's why he's the #1 recruit in the nation and I'm sitting behind a desk at 7 AM on a Friday.

it's possible, but not likely. ohherro commented earlier a WaPo article and tweet that basically spelled out that Hand talked to Foster to let him how he's no longer considering VT. Sure, he could be planning to pull a complete 180 when he announces his college choice, but I don't think playing with Hokie Nation's heartstrings like that is in his mind right now. I know my mood immediately plummeted upon reading the headline; I can only imagine what that Hand-Foster phone conversation was like.
