Well she's assuming (and so is the rest of the world honestly) that we lose to bama; she said we'll be riding a three game win streak, w.carolina marshall ecu, going into GT. She's basically saying that bama isn't winnable so we shouldn't use that as a benchmark. With that logic it would make sense that she wouldn't say bama is the most important game because for our ACC purposes we could lose to bama and still go to charlotte. Regardless I agree with some above that unc is the most important (at least right now in June)

The Battle for the Commonwealth Cup is always our most important game of the year. We don't want the smug Hoos to have bragging rights
This may seem bad now, but when we win the commonwealth cup to complete a decade of domination we'll all feel better. So recruits think, on a national level, we are not all that. Ehh, we might get there someday. What it all boils down to is that LOLUVA sux, and we are better than them, and thinking about that always makes me smile.
Agreed but we really need that IPF soon, lots of ACC schools have them now too.
Name a number 1 recruit from another state that VT has pulled in. Off the top of my head, I can think of two. KJ and Kendall. KJ was an amazing get, and has to be repeated. Kendall was well connected with VT community, so I'm not considering him. VT is having a hard time pulling in the #1 recruit in VA. It's not getting close to pulling in #1 recruits in any other state.
As long as Bryn Renner still has arms and Larry Fedora is still the coach, UNC will give us at least a challenge
I don't see why everyone thinks UNC and Miami are gonna be so good this year. UNC lost their entire offense (Giovanni Bernard) and Miami's quarterback is Stephen Morris who is hilariously bad. People keep hyping him up like they did with Jacory Harris but that doesn't mean he's good. I don't think people realize how bad our division is gonna be and how much better our defense is than everyone else we play.

I think seeing a crystal ball in the trophy case gives them that gut feeling. We literally have everything that all of the other schools have besides that.
-Conference powerhouse: check
-National powerhouse: see "crystal ball" below
-Strong fan base: check
-Successful coach: check (we have the advantage in some cases here)
-Great defense: check
-NFL factory: check
-Top notch facilities: check (not sure if all of the others have indoor practice facilities)

If anybody wants to argue location, I'm not buying it (Michigan is freezing). If we win a MNC or two then the cold mountains won't matter to most.
