I definitely agree. GT is always important because of precedent, but this season, UNC and Miami are much more immediately important.

Anyways, I gotta disagree with her analysis. The GT game is somewhat of an anomaly on our schedule with their triple option offense, which Bud has been on top of recently. I honestly feel that our next game, home against UNC, should show us a bit more about where our season is headed, especially since they are apparently supposed to be better than GT this year.

As a new Arrested Development watcher who just saw this episode a few days ago going through all of the seasons now I appreciated this very much.
The #allmarooneverything uniform combinations just give me a warm feeling inside. Those are the jerseys i grew up watching. The late 90's big east days and lee sugs, KJ, MV7. They were just hard nosed teams. When I think back on my first real memories of tech football its in #allmarooneverything.

But that part about "hasn't qualified academically yet" kinda worries me. I guess it is just because he probably doesn't have enough credits and hasn't taken the SAT/ACT yet. I'd assume if he wants to study engineering that his grades are in order, but I'm making a lot of asses of you and me in this post.
I say if any Hokie at any time does any permanent damage to anything held dear to a rival fan base that we exorcise that former Hokie from our ranks.
Edit: The tiger paw painted on the field, or the T added to the V in Charlottesville are clearly not permanent, and all in good fun. I'm even willing to forgive the removal of the letter after we beat GT last year. Things that are replaceable are fair game. But Toomer's and Howard's are out of bounds. Putting a #BeatBama shirt on the Saban statue, totally in bounds.
I'm still not real happy about this as well. I understand that, as VA becomes a better HS FB state (anyone else notice the we went from Rivals making a VA Top 30 to a VA Top 35?), the competition for our athletes will be more intense. Teams like Alabama, Clemson, FSU, FLA, OSU, Michigan, etc. will be able to pull in some of the best of them. But when we have a class loaded with a position group (the LBs mentioned above, the DLs this year, not to mention the QBs we haven't pulled over the past few years [Wilson, Glennon 2, Manuel, Sims, Renner, Boyd]), it starts to feel like our recruiting isn't up to par.
This year, I can give a pass to an extent. We had a bad year last year and our new coaches don't know the commonwealth like the old ones did, I get it. I'll just be frustrated if we continue to fall behind out-of-state schools in our own commonwealth.

I imagine ryane was making a reference to Hand wanting to major in engineering... before he switched to sports marketing and dropped us from consideration. Don't want to put words in another poster's mouth, but that's how I took it, and I chuckled.
