I think the facility is going to be placed in then Southgate lot. Look how much thought they have put into it. Major downer, loss of parking spaces, but with donor parking in the basement and motor pool lot they end up with a surplus. The Decision board is already showing signs of being mentally invested in this one. Go on and build it.

We shall go on to the end. We shall #BEATBAMA in France, we shall #BEATBAMA on the seas and oceans, we shall #BEATBAMA with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our end zone, whatever the cost may be. We shall #BEATBAMA on the beaches, we shall #BEATBAMA on the ground, we shall #BEATBAMA on the field and in the streets, we shall #BEATBAMA in the hills; we shall never surrender.

That is absolutely refreshing. I get tired of "What can you do for me" lately, instead are looking at what major they could get in the event they don't make it to the professional level. +1

I'm some what on the fence about the need for an indoor practice facility.

During Tech's Beamer-revival, they never had an indoor facility, and did just fine in stomping teams who came into Lane Stadium to play.

Is it truly necessary to have one? Is Tech doing this completely out of "keeping up with the Jones?"

I understand that it help sells recruits on the commitment with a glamorous dorm and practice facility, but part of me feel the cautionary tale of Florida's basketball team got locked out of their own plush facility because of the entitlement mentality that crept into the team applies here.

It is nice to have a dry environment and plenty of room for units to conduct their drills, stances, and whatnots instead of running into each other as it was reported from this past spring. I get that.

Of course, the location is the most tricky part of it all. I am not in favor of constructing the facility on the location of Stadium Wood. We need those oxygen from the trees on game day to keep screaming and take the hot air out of Lane at the same time. I am not an engineer, so I'll defer to others who can understand it better.

I guess what I am saying is this: I am somewhat in favor of having a facility as long as it is completely necessary and helps the team to be better prepared for Saturday. I am more worried about the cost and the possibility of entitlement infecting the program.

Not necessarily. It opens at 4, so you get up around 8, have a nice breakfast (not huge, but something significant) to stretch out the stomach and get the metabolism going for the Homeplace experience while still allowing about 8 hours for total digestion. Then, when you arrive at Homeplace, your body is primed and ready to go and you can just dive in to all that Southern goodness.

Similar story, not of a friend of mine, but a lone Hokiefan that was seated about 10 rows in front of me in the ECU student section at the game my senior year. I saw him talking trash back and forth with the ButtPirates around him all game but at one point I guess the fans had crossed the line. I say this because a ton of commotion breaks out down in front of me and when I looked down I see the kid had ripped his shirt off and was yelling at the fans around him. He wasn't a gigantic dude, but about 6 foot and definitely someone I wouldn't want to mess with. Needless to say everything died down and it didn't look like any fans were giving him crap for the rest of the game.

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been seeing a lot of cars in the DC area with Alabama stickers lately. My automatic reaction has been to make sure that I'm always in front of them, I'll probably get a ticket at some point but it'll be worth it. Gotta #BeatBama at every possible chance.

And even then, the result wasn't spectacular.

Sorry if this offends you, but quite honestly I don't give a damn. Kenny Fucking Powers!
