I'm really not too concerned with what we wear, provided we never wear those orange helmets again. Especially not against UVA (or other, similarly colored schools... Syracuse, Clemson etc). Is that really too much to ask?

1996 season. Rutgers maybe. Back when VT used to run the option, Jim Druckenmiller pitches the ball, turns, decks a linebacker. hammer meets nail. Another great moment is when Druck sets the power clean record (I think) and the weigh room goes nuts. This was showed this during TV broadcast. Yes, I love me some Druck.

There are also a few Corey Moore quotes that will forever be etched in my mind.
1. "Best in the nation... "
2. Can you spell (say) woodshed
3. Welcome to the Terror Dome. We swarm

Speaking of which, Brown also posted this photo - which appear to be the updated uniforms. Not a lot has changed other than the Retro-Logo being replaced with the standard "VT"

Exactly. I've never really mentioned it because it seems that all keyplayers want us to wear only two uniforms a year but having numerous uniforms (some flashy) is the trend. It sticks out in these recruits minds and that stuff matters. I didn't like the hokie tracks and foghorn leghorn helmets, I get that, but us having multiple uniform options is a competitive advantage that we should embrace instead of complain about. With that being said, I'm very much for #allmarooneverything... but not all season.

so...maybe us old guys should stop complaining about the uniforms? I don't care if we wear pink- if it pulls in recruits and helps us get to the next level!

So for what it is worth, one of the top QBs, Kyle Allen, just announced he was going to Texas A&M. Another top QB, Brandon Harris, is between LSU, Bama, and A&M. Presumably he would not commit to A&M. Should he commit to Bama, things could fall in line for Cornwell to commit to us.

Speaking of skipping Feast, I find Oberyn Martell's absence glaring (see also: Belwas, Hoat, Mummers, and practically everyone north of the Wall, maybe even Coldhands/Benjen). But the more I see things hitting the editing room floor, the more likely I think it is that House Martell will be relegated to a very peripheral story line.

you can tell grrm gets annoyed in interviews when he's asked about that. i believe hbo has said the show will last seven seasons. honestly they could skip past a bunch of a feast for crows but maybe we'll learn all about all those damn greyjoys in the show while martin spins his wheels.

i'm more anxious for the winds of winter to come out just to see what happened to jon snow!

Obligatory check-in. My biggest concern is that the television series will fast outpace the completion of the books. Don't want the tail wagging the dog.

There's an instrumental song called Kansas by The Devil Wears Prada that would be pretty cool with a highlight video. Pretty powerful.

I have 2 cousins and a cousin-in-law that went to KU. Even though they can't win more than 2 football games a season, they still rag on about that win. We could win 3 national championships in 3 years while they lose 36 straight games, and I'm sure I still won't stop hearing about the Orange Bowl and their stupid Rock Chalk chant. I would love for a home-and-home with KU, just so I can restore football bragging right. Or, perhaps a win in the NCAA bball tournament would be more apt, but let's be serious, that's not happening anytime soon.

Agreed, the 3 tech is arguably the most important position on the field (esp. in a 4 man front). If Brown came in with his size and fast twitch ability and was coached to stay low and keep separation by Foster & Co. we would have a Fairley situation on our hands. It would also free up the 2i and allow opportunities for him as well.
