There are a few common themes about VT football; The defense and special teams are always a strength, the O-Line is not, the running game comes first, and the passing game is about efficiency. Improve the O-Line and you've got a national contender. Just sayin'.

I didn't see anything as blatantly stupid as the quotes from Oliver in the first article, but overall hoo-ishness is throughout the article. Oliver was apparently the driving force behind getting O'Brian back at Jeffy-U, but one wonders, given his 2 yr. deal, if Oliver is setting it up for OB to be the successor to London. It certainly smacks of that.

Jesus, saw this and thought Michael Holmes had been kicked off the team and had opened his recruitment to other school. Thank god I figured that one out.
Well that's perfect! We're going to need new lineman or possibly another quarterback to throw in the mix so he'll fit right in! :D
From what I've been reading, that may actually be a good sign for us. From all indications, FSU has been the leader despite all the crap thrown out there on the twitterverse. So if his recruitment is "open", that might mean (and this is all speculation, of course), someone at FSU - and hopefully not Tech - rubbed him the wrong way.
Either way, we knew it would be a tough recruitment, so lets hope this keeps the pedal to the metal.
On a related note, JC Shurburtt was on Bill King this morning and he indicated Holmes would prefer to play TE in college, and that he could ultimately become the best TE in the nation given his frame and athleticism. I have no idea how adept he is at catching passes, but he could be a monster in Loeffler's system.
Replace the medals with a Richmond PD badge and it will be even better.
