AMEN!!!!!
Snot bubbles!
DJ Reid has decent size
When healthy, neibert was a ranked wrestler. Why have two all American talents at 141 when there is nothing at 133 is what I'm getting at. Carter was a beast at 133 and probably would have finished high again this year.
I would also be prepared for some post-spring attrition. This team is setting the tone for a season of hard work based on five straight (six total) 6AM workouts, something Frank hasn't done before. Besides a clear lack of talent in some positions, last year's team lacked overall toughness. I think VT got rid of some of that with the graduating class, but I wouldn't be surprised to see other players jump who aren't willing to put in the work.
So which RB's are big enough to transition to FB? Definitely not Gregory...
Gregory definitely seems like he is shaped like a receiver... isn't he a little taller than some of the other RB's?
Is a complete offense to defense switch really a possibility at this point for Holmes...? I feel like he would have a much easier time sliding to another offensive position or being a special teamer.
I think we're really going to miss Tweedy on special teams...
No, because they are still regarded as one of the top 68 teams in the nation. How long they've been playing is irrelevant. I don't think anyone would argue that JMU was one of the 68 best football teams in the nation. I don't think it would be considered one of the top 136 teams in the nation that year. I'm sorry, it was a painful day for me too, but it was a different order of magnitude in terms of crappiness.
FGCU Basketball didn't exist until two years ago. That's comparable I'd say.
I'm guessing that they redshirted Carter to let some stiff competition get a year ahead of him, guys like Steiber from Ohio St. and Ramos from Iowa. He has also gained some nice experience wrestling internationally. Also, Carter may be around the 141 mark. His twitter name is DevinCarter141.
Gregory will be a senior so I don't see him moving, not full-time anyhow. .. Coleman and Edmunds aren't going anywhere, nor is Reid (for now). I think that Holmes's future depends a lot on the spring. Aside from that group, everyone else should probably move or focus on special teams. They won't be getting significant reps at RB. With the renewed priority on FB, maybe one or two of the bigs could move into a FB role.
strictly guessing
I feel like Tony Gregory could make a smooth transition to WR where there is plenty of competition besides DJ Coles.
I feel like Michael Holmes is an athletic guy with good size that could possibly be tried out at whip/rover if RB doesn't work out especially with very little on the depth at those 2 spots.
If those 2 moved then you have a healthy competition between I'd imagine mainly JC and Trey in the spring. Hopefully Drew Harris is in the mix in the fall and feel like DJ Reid prob redshirts but has ability to make it a hard decision especially if Drew Harris never gets to Blacksburg.
If some players don't want to move or a place can't be found for them, we will likely see a few transfers, possibly a redshirt or two as well.
haha just kidding! I'll remember that in future replies
Thanks Joe, that fixed my problem with the voting. On a related note, are you planning to rename "Comment Score" "Turkey Legs" or add it after the score?
The side bar wasn't moving since I had the phone in a horizontal position to use my keyboard so that along with several people commenting on the "mobile site" had me a little confused.
I'm hoping they are moving Wright there for him to put on some more weight and act in the same manner that Pryor did for FSU this past year. Someone who's quick enough to get into the secondary and tough to bring down. An Oglesby kind of fullback that provides another threat in the running game and can do more than get 2 yards on a pass to the flats (that hopefully Logan can complete this year). I realize that Loeffler likes to use Fullbacks to seal the edge, but he has also said that we will work with what we have and not try to play a scheme with players that don't fit. Right now, I don't know that anybody but Beiro can be that guy and with him still being a little tender, they have to try something else. Just my thoughts on it.
Thought the same thing. We should do it, maybe a tailgate before?
For sure, and he's definitely the kind of kid who's easy to root for just with his family stuff and all. I doubt we'll see any rumblings about needing senior leadership in a couple years.
No pun intended on that "setting the tone" bit right? Riiiiiiight? I'm actually a little surprised Exum didn't get any shirts, bum knee and all (only half-kidding).
100% charged... good stuff, Joe.
There isn't a mobile site to be redirected to. The normal site is responsive and updates to fit the width of your display and optimizes for mobile. Here's what it looks like on an iPhone: http://i.imgur.com/JXUmG3k.png. The top navigation bar won't scroll and the right sidebar will appear below the list of articles.
As for your other issue, make sure Javascript is enabled.
The new logo is lovely and all, but it's a bit subtle. 99% of what you said there I didn't get at all until it was pointed out on the forums. (Yes, even the fact that the key was shaped like VA)
Perhaps it could be used in combination with something else?
I have not given up on Holmes. To me, Holmes is the polar opposite of Wilson where Wilson relied on his speed and shimmy-ness to get out of jam, while Holmes run behind the line, probing for an open and hits it. One of Holmes' biggest knocks is his hesitation. I wonder if it's due to a lack of trust in the OL's ability to open up a hole. I think Holmes will get another look.
Not nearly as bad as that. Sure, they've been losing to double-digit seeds, but these are all tourney teams. We lost to an FCS school. Totally different ball park.

The last part of that sentence is going to be telling. IF you want to work hard then there will be a place somewhere for you at VT! If you don't want to work hard then get out of the way!
