Why are people celebrating this? He was a promising recruit when we are severely deprived of talent. Some people just don't seem to realize that some of these guys take a while to develop *coughErickGreencough*. Just look what Ty Garland is doing for La Salle, he's absolute beast mode right now. Our basketball programs future looks pretty damn bleak right now.

I am incredibly disappointed that I never realized this in the past two years. Spot on.

Best of luck to him. Does anyone else think he looks like Frozone from The Incredibles?

Parker Osterloh- 6'8", 330 lbs. True Freshman who really should be finishing up as asenior in high school right now. If he has the mentality to match what Grimes wants.. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kid clearly has talent.

Hopefully a change in scenery is all he needs to get it going. Wish him luck.

While there is a chance he may have gotten bypassed next year by Smith and Clark, it shows that he isn't committed to making himself better and not letting his spot get taken. They have already started doing individual workouts and if he put in the work, I'm sure he could have secured his starting spot.
Also a factor is that he dates former volleyball player Gabby Talley who was also from Florida and is transferring back down to that area as well.
He did community service with us from his freshmen year incident and was a decent enough kid, but if your head isn't in it, then a fresh start is what he may need and from what I hear that fresh start is at FGCU.

That basketball practice facility (or even Cassell) could probably be converted into an a ice rink, without too much effort...

But I still say there's a big difference between #100 in basketball and #100 in football. That's why we divide the divisions. Because of the necessary roster sizes and costs of fielding a football, the little guys can't keep up like they can in basketball. There's far less parity in football because of it. That's why Appy St-Michigan and JMU-Vt are such big deals.

Anyway, I guess we clearly aren't going to come to a consensus here, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Brown struggled mightily to find any sort of consistency. Brown's father eluded to Gianatto that Robert might have been homesick.

"I think mentally he just wasn't there. He would go and try to work the kinks out and it's not the kinks. It's the mental aspect,"

For me, worse than his shooting slumps were the brain farts, being careless with the ball, and turnovers. Maybe he was mentally absent, which no amount of talent can overcome.

With Donte Clark and Adam Smith coming in next season, this might not be a major blow from a talent perspective. However, I think it says something negative about the program, the fragile state it's in, and the revolving doors apparently now in Cassell.

To all the people that think this is a good thing, know this...Marquis Rankin is now the person who will be running this team. Not that I don't think he can do it, but think about that a little bit...

meh, it's pretty common in college hoops for kids to transfer. seth lost kids seemingly every year. he wants to be closer to home which i can understand, but dude was a turnover waiting to happen so i dont think it's a serious loss.

I'm disappointed about this.

Robert Brown's play was far from spectacular this year, but I think he showed potential. Never met him, don't know anything about his work ethic or personality, but (as a brianm11 pointed out) he was athletic, could defend and drive to the hoop. I honestly thought he could've be the centerpiece of our offense his senior year. Guess not. Hope he really is moving just to get closer to home.

Appreciate LT being honest...but come on, as a fourth year player and two-year starting QB, if they was a clear leadership void, maybe he should have stepped up.

Not quite. In 2005, Duke was #133. In 2007, Duke was #109. 2006, data is not available.

This year, Colorado was #156.

Losing to any of those 3 teams would be terrible, statistically, worse than our JMU loss was. But they wouldn't have appeared quite so bad just because they are in the same division as us.

I think what I'm trying to get at is that Division 1 basketball essentially covers FBS and FCS football, and that FGCU basketball would easily fall into FCS if basketball was split up similarly to football. And in that sense, the upsets are very similar.

And this one might even be worse, given what was at stake. For us, that JMU game was just a regular season game. Only thing at stake was the change in the W-L columns. Georgetown was in the NCAA tournament. That loss ended their season.

I know he had a down year, but in my opinion it's a major concern to lose a quality guard when your star player is leaving and someone is needed to drive the team. Not to mention with DFS gone too, it's no good to recruit highly ranked players if you can't keep them or coach them up.
