Really, anything can happen before Signing Day. That being said, everything we've heard from D. Hand indicates VT is the perfect fit for him. One can only hope he'll be formally added to the program in February.

Just watched Yates in the quarterfinal. Had to go to a second overtime and video replay to get the win, but a win is a win and he becomes just the second All-American for Virginia Tech Wrestling. Taylor will be an absolute tough test tonight and if he wins it doesn't get any easier with Dake presumably in the final.

Its hard to tell who's coming because (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) they aren't official visits so nothing is announced per sey. Official visits aren't until fall I believe. I'll do some research though. I love not having classes on Friday.

This isn't praise or criticism or anything like that. Just wondered if anyone else is having the same problem:
I am really having trouble retraining myself not to scroll all the way back up to the top of the page to hit the 'tracker' button! I love that the header travels with you, and when I use my brain instead of my reflexes, it's so great to just quickly click back to the tracker. Its just... man, I guess we are creatures of habit. I scroll back up on most every post.
Anyway, just to reiterate much of what is said above, love the cleaned up site, and appreciate everyone's time and hard work on the look, layout, and content!

I am thanking Harvard so much for winning right now, that has saved me! Luckiest pick ever.

But Marquette was so close to blowing it. And curse Ok. State

I love this idea, but maybe, as it's been suggested, this should get split up between football and all other sports. I think most, if not all, of us on here have a strong bias towards football so those moments stand out higher to us. Personally what Tincher did to the US National Team might be one of the greatest moments in sports had it not been in women's softball. Sure it was an exhibition game but no hitting the most dominant team in the world is comparable to beating the Russians in Lake Placid.

That all being said, beyond being a great moment, had the Miracle in Morgantown not happened who knows if this program is what it is today.

Yates and Taylor is really going to be the marquee for the day. And Garnett has a long day ahead of him to salvage this tournament.

Damn you Harvard and your stupid brains!

Also, I thought the tie-breaker in our office pool was margin of victory in the final. Turns out it's actually total points in the final. Doubt it'll come to the tie-breaker, but it's very unlikely that the final score will be something like 4-3...

This is why I didn't go to Harvard.

"Is VT in danger of losing Hand?"

Don't you actually have to possess something to be in danger of losing it?

The kid is wide open. VT has an excellent shot, but so do several other programs.

The fact that Ty Garland has more NCAA Tournament wins at La Salle than Erick Green is further proof that Greenberg was a terrible coach.

so yeah, the most march madness moment of day 1, the last 10 seconds of marquette/davidson. i was pulling for davidson since i grew up 20 minutes from their campus but sometimes you just gotta appreciate the madness.

When I was at the AAA Northwest Regional Wrestling tournament about a month ago, where Hand wrestled as a heavyweight, Hand's coach was showing everyone a picture of Nick Saban watching him practice. Saban is trying hard. I must also say, Da'Shawn Hand is a very large human being, and you don't see many high school juniors that well put together.

10/10 I love the Hokie Stone on the Borders. And the key shaped like the state is a nice touch!
