I was a junior in HS. My sister snuck me into the North End Zone. That was sooooo much fun

That would be terrifying. A 400 lb dude coming at you that fast...

The ESPN article on the list tempers expectations, basically saying that because he plays on a losing team, he doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.

It was intense. For anyone who didn't watch it: we were down by 14 points after round 1. Entered the finals down by 10. Uva had 8 wrestlers in the finals. We had 6. The odds were definitely against us. 5 out of our 6 won an acc title. Just a single one of the 8 Hoos won, and he just barely pulled it out in the final seconds. It came down to the last match. UVA vs Tech. Winner won ACC championship for the team. Marone made it look easy winning 8-0.

I think we are. A lot of wahoos don't want to go either. I just don't see justification. Maryland was broke and cutting sports.

Plus, UVa is strong at a lot of the other sports the B1G doesn't carry.

Box Squat means something; torso, core and leg strength is important for driving off the ball. Not sure how Power Cleans and Bench Press translate into a good lineman.

So squats of 600 #s plus is really impressive. Hopkins and Benedict blew everybody away here. From that should come the tools for being the top O and D linemen on the team.

Extra impressive is Benedict doing this after complete knee reconstuction. Yeah it might have been 3 years ago, but the surgery, and rehab must have been very successful.

Where's Demitri Knowles? Last year on Beamer Ball he was listed as running a 4.28. Did he not participate, or has he gotten much slower?

Pardon the cliche, but Shane Beamer have a good problem on his hand.

Talent wise, this team may have been better than the 1999 team. There were playmakers EVERYWHERE, and the defense was absolutely scary. I don't think this team got along with each other as well as the 1999 team did well, though. This season had its bright spots (the GT, WVU, and BC wins) and definitely its low spots (the Miami and FSU losses and Marcus stomping on Dumerville's leg), but I don't remember this season for those things. I remember it for the abundant talent on both sides of the ball. I mean, c'mon. Marcus Vick, Cedric Humes, Eddie Royal, Josh Morgan, Justin Harper, Jeff King, Will Montgomery, Jonathan Lewis, Daryl Tapp, Nolan Burchette, Xavier Adibi, Vince Hall, James Anderson, Jimmy Williams, Brandon Flowers, Macho Harris, DJ Parker, and Brandon Pace all on the same team. Almost everyone of those guys went to the NFL, and 10 of them still play today!

Are we still as tight with UVa as we were when Casteen was their President. Casteen was a VA guy. Born and raised in VA, did all of his education at UVa and was Sec of Education under Robb. Sullivan OTH is from the BIG. She went to MI State. She spent some time in TX as an admin un the UT system before going back to MI to serve at the UofM. Then she took over at UVa. Her only connection to the Commonwealth is her presidency at UVa.

YES. I live in WV as well, so this rivalry means a lot to me. Going out with a win, along with Marcus' antics was absolutely beautiful.

These are from BeamerBall as well

K. Asante - 4.36
J.C. Coleman - 4.37
T. Edmunds - 4.37
D. Bonner - 4.39
C. Mangus - 4.42

I knew everyone on that list was super fast except for Trey Edmunds considering he's 6-1 212. I hope he, without question, wins the tailback spot this spring.

I think the bond between UVA and VT is stronger than what people think. Add in the richmond factor as well. Plus, UVA is not struggling financially. UMD was hurting so they jumped for the money. UVA is more rich then people realize.

Taking UNC from Duke will be tough. They are attached like we are with UVA.

In the end, no matter what happens, VT will be in one of the top conferences. I just see it being really hard to split up some of these groups. Like Texas and no OU. Wouldn't happen.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that if Maryland pays a far less exit fee that could start dominoes of teams leaving. There are rumors of uva or GT possibly being looked at by the B1G and if one of them left think we can agree VT should leave.

Pretty much if any team that has a better football program than uconn or Cincy leaves the ACC it's probably time for VT to leave as well if they do in fact have an invite/interest from the SEC

There is no doubt that FSU brings the ACC fb credibility even though they haven't done anything since 2000-2001. They go the ACC looks a lot like the BE circa late 90's. The shitty thing is, FSU and UNC and ND to a lesser extent basically hold the ACC's future in their hands.

Anybody could do it then... You can't allow it for one and deny everyone else...

To quote Bender from "The Breakfast Club":

"If one of us gets up, we'll all get up! IT'LL BE ANARCHY!"

It would kill our all-blacks from the Boise State game, too.

Speaking of BSU...
"Uniform and field colors. Either the color of the uniform pants or the color of the body of the jersey must clearly contrast with the color of the surface of the field of play."
