But, just in case we forget to #BEATBAMA, I don't know that it will really matter much either way, whether we were ranked at #23 or unranked, no-one outside of Hokie Nation expects us to win that game anyway.

If he was truly tricked then I say this...

This is America! Since when does The "NFL bound All American star middle linebacker for Notre Dame" go online to date some girl that he doesn't know, and that he has never seen in person ever. Why wouldn't he date some Notre Dame girl, or even a girl back in his hometown or something.
I agree with everyone that its just mind boggling.

Drew tweeted that the only thing keeping him from enrolling is a "matriculation letter" from Virginia Tech.

"Drew Harris™ ‏@Hollacide

#hokienation all I need is a matriculation letter from va tech admissions everything else is fine waiting on admissions"

A matriculation letter seems like it is an extremely simple piece of admissions documentation.

BUT, with the forecast calling for 12" of snow today, campus is closed today, will probably be closed tomorrow, is closed on Monday for MLK day, and classes start on Tuesday.

Honestly, if his enrollment falls through, it would be one of the worst cluster f's i can remember.

Great one. That was my sophomore year. The previous year we had lost in Morgantown, and I remember some especially questionable officiating in that one. To beat them at home was sweet. The best part of the '04 WVU game (aside from rushing the field itself) was the fact that the North Endzone bleachers were literally creaking for the better part of the game because the majority of us kept pounding on them as hard as we could anytime WVU had the ball.

Fun fact - my profile pic is from earlier that same day. For the College of Science Homecoming, we did a chemistry demo and got the Bird to hold up one of our demonstrations. We blew stuff up, lit stuff on fire, made some slime for some kids, and beat the couch burners - great day!

I was in the stands for the 03 Miami game. That was the best game I ever attended.

Beating Tennessee in the 2009 Chick-Fil-A bowl. That might not be a big win for anyone else, but to me it was. I live in Bristol TN/VA so I live in the mix of the Virginia Tech and Tennessee rivalry everyday. Tennessee fans are worse than UVA fans to me and I can barely stand them. They are so annoying. I was so thrilled to watch their hearts break on Facebook during the game. And when I returned home. 37-14 baby.

Also, Miami 2003. The 2003 team was generally loathesome, but they sure got this game right.

In 2004 my freshman year when we played WVU at home. I remember all their fans (WVU) getting off 5-6 buses (must have been a couple thousand of them) in front of Cassell and chanting F the Hokies and talking non stop trash on the way into the stadium. At the time i believe they were ranked 5 or 6? And we were unranked.

After a blocked field goal for a TD and some nice defensive stands we pulled it out. Everyone in the north endzone charged the field and made a b-line straight across the field to the visiting section in the south endzone to chant Lets Go Hokies. WVU fans started throwing anything they could on the field at the Hokie fans gathered in front of them.

That was my favorite moment besides Tyrod vs Nebraska, to stick it to those bastages from WVU

Every single time we beat UVA. Especially after 'someone' defaced (I would argue upgraded) their field with spray paint.

1. Shayne Graham's kick to beat WVU in 1999
2. The realization midway through the second quarter of the BC game in 1999 that we were looking at the NCG...pure bliss.

I'd rather us not be ranked and everyone put the team down before the game. The more the media tells us we aren't good the better. Make em hungry.

I still think it helps WHEN (not if) we #BEATBAMA. If we start ranked in the high 20's, after the win I see us breaking the top 10. Going in unranked after the win think we end up in the teens. So the question is, does an unranked ACC team that goes undefeated end up in spot 1 or 2?

I put the BC loss of 2007 as my least favorite moment, so getting revenge in the conference title game might have been the sweetest. Getting to beat the crap out of Matt Ryan was some great revenge.

Oh, and this one even though I was very young I still remember it:
