Considering the need is for a big body and someone that can shoot, Chaney is one of the biggest misses this season. Averaging a double double at High Point the last time I checked.
Someone threw out Tyrone Garlands name out the other day as a joke, but he is killing it LaSalle and would probably be better than Rankin at this point. Rankin needs a full period of not being injured and not having family setbacks to recompose and be the player he should be.

We can't do any better than that?
Watching the games it seems that most of the time we are still standing around the 3 point line with our hands in our pockets waiting for things to be handed to us.
They do sell seats for $5 right inside the gates and proceeds benefit the VT army department to participate in field training exercises and other military competitions. *just a promo for them for those that don't know.
That's not what I remember from OU of that era. He played u der Hayden Fry, who was run oriented.

Said he has a bit of Mike Leach in him and he'd take him back at OU in a second. Only thing is, guy still lives in Norman, would he even want to come to VA? And all his roots are out on the plains, no ties here in terms of recruiting.
Part of me doesn't care WHAT kind of offense we run as long as it fucking works (unlike the current one).

not sure who was more responsible for that 8th ranked offense, but my money's on A.D.

I believe, Turner Gill hired Long, not Mangino. Do you have a link for any of the recruiting violations, I'm Googling, but can't find anything... Do you remember if they were secondary infractions or something major?

How do you go from pep Hamilton to chuck long? Nothing like going from facing high school d's to facing Bama week 1!
Offense plummeted under Long after the Orange Bowl win.
Mangino and Long both were part of a program that fell to pieces AND faced recruiting violations.
At Oklahoma, the offense had a reputation for being a soft, screen driven, finnese offense. Despite having Adrian Petersen and a plethora of NFL talent, Oklahoma never seemed to shake that reputation.
I am not happy. Not happy at all.
It would have taken effort to have a bad offense.
Could this hire help bring Logan Thomas back for his senior season? He coached 2003 Heisman Trophy winner Jason White and Heisman finalist Josh Heupel in 2000.

He had a lot of success as an offensive coordinator in Oklahoma, not so much as a head coach or in Kansas with Turner Gill.

After fooling myself into thinking we'd get Pep, this feels like a letdown to me.
