i read that he just graduated and i agree i think he's gone. every draft expert says its a mistake so i hope he doesnt, but i just cant see him staying

The refs were as much of an abortion as the offensive output.

he's clearly regressed. i'm not x's and o's guru but all i know is he's gone from really good to really bad. from the first throw last night he was off and we all knew it was gonna be a long night.

as far as learning a new system, that might not be such a bad thing. look at tajh boyd after one offseason in a new system. a good coach can do things like that.

My wife asked me prior to last night, "Do you want them to lose so change will occur?"

I said I never want VT to lose. But I would love to see us barely win and our offense stink in the process. I told her I wanted the defense to win the game, which is essentially what happened. Our offense stunk and I agree that this is a win-win. The entire country saw how bad our offense is and we got the win.

If there are no changes....then I can only imagine the alumni backlash.

Since he did not say last night he was coming back......I would say he's gone. He said he has some tough decisions to make....that sounds to me like he is ready to go.

You all can kill me all you want for this comment, but I do not think he is that good of a QB and I think we needed a change at QB. Just my opinion.

I'd agree, but I'll wait to see if there is an overhaul of the offensive staff.

If we bring in a Tom O'Brien-level quarterback developer, I think he stays to get some real tutelage.

If there are no offensive coaching changes, I think Logan should go to the pros regardless of where he'll be drafted. There's too much risk of injury involved in being asked to plow into Alabama's front seven next year. He'd do better getting real coaching and sitting on a bench making even the league minimum.

If he decided to enter the draft it would be in a later round and i honestly wouldnt use a draft pick in him at all if i werent a Hokie. All he has going for him is physical potential and that doesn't cut it in the nfl. His accuracy is worse than it was last year and his throwing mechanics have gotten worse since the sugar bowl and didn't improve throughout the season. This isnt necessary all his fault as i feel the coaching he received this year was terrible and the o-line/running game didnt take a bit of pressure off of him. Yet that could also be a sign of how he would react in a faster paced harder hitting nfl. If he had entered the nfl after the sugar bowl i could've seen him getting picked up in the second or third round but at this point he has no guaranteed money in the nfl and ultimately it would be best for both Virginia Tech and LT3 if he came back for his last year unless Thomas has given up on a NFL career.

...for a few things regarding the game:

1) At halftime, Beamer would have fired the offensive coaches. (Did not happen)
2) Sent the offensive coaches home on the Greyhound special (Everyone else flies, also did not/will not happen)
3) The defense scored more points than the offense (Did not happen)
4) The offense allowed more points than the defense (Actually did happen)

I thought the second play touchdown was actually a safety. I thought the replays showed Logan stretching out the ball and that his knee was down prior to having the ball stripped. I concluded this was because of the CurseOfTheTrophyCase.

Since the game was UCLA/Illinois-Kraft-Fight-Hunger-Bowl-level-hilarious (also depressing), I kind of enjoyed the fact that the player of the game (Exum) had one tackle. I'm wondering if he'll be a free safety next year when our secondary contains AllTheFullers.

Given our regular level of offensive ineptitude, I was actually surprised about how poorly the offense and special teams played. Lots of mistakes, sloppy plays, and penalties with both units. I honestly think it was a reflection of the stress going on behind the scenes. It looked to me like we were not a well-coached team, but I'm left convinced the coaching staff of offense and special teams were focused on finding other jobs, not this bowl game.

You said exactly what I was thinking yesterday. There's no way O'Cainspring can be back now.

Ever. And that game would have been a blowout if Bonner learned how to catch the ball.

There were 21 punts in this game. Game ball goes to our punter...and Alonzo Tweedy.

The guy is blazing fast and a SOLID tackler. He'll get his chance at the next level just in special teams for sure. He was outstanding last night!

I'm damn proud of our whole team for not losing their composure. But make no mistake about it, our defense saved the day once again. Logan, buddy, whatever you do I'll cheer you on. But please give us one more season to build on the last two! ocainspring must be gone soon. THREE (3) overtime games in one season?! Totally unacceptable. looks like the sherminator is gone anyways

Couldn't agree more.

Even though Tweedy (and Bruce Taylor) may not have had the great senior season they had probably envisioned, they both went out there and played their tails off for 60 minutes tonight. I thought it was fitting that Bruce made the last tackle in OT...

As for Tweedy, I don't think he'll be drafted but he could potentially get picked up as a free agent and be given a shot on special teams. I think Bud said it best post-game: "In my 32 years of coaching, I don't know if I've ever seen a better special teams player. Ever. "
