"Because of non-stop speculation concerning ACC members moving to other leagues, the ACC's 15 presidents issued a statement reaffirming their commitment.

The statement was initiated by presidents of Florida State (Eric Barron), Clemson (James Barker), Georgia Tech (Bud Peterson), North Carolina (Holden Thorp) and Virginia Tech (Charles Steger) -- whose schools have been the most speculated targets of the Big Ten or Big 12 conferences."

ACC Schools Say They're United

Bad because of the obvious #VT4SEC. Good because the ACC won't collapse if FSU and Clemson stay. For now. We'll see who's true to their word. I hope we're not lol.

Sherman said in the same interview "I think what you'll see is a guy that's hungry, competitive, impressive athletically. I like what he's about" re:Caleb. I think its more that due to lack of bodies in the secondary/size & skill set of the athletes coming in they will probably get a look on the defensive side especially Prince and Chuck Clark.

I'm not sure, it seems like a strange comment with both Stanford and Caleb in the wings and a lot of young talent in Knowles, Asante, and Irick. Then again, I'm not sure Sherman is still going to have a job in a few months so take it for what its worth. Just hoping Caleb does not have a similar development plan to Marcus Davis.

Anybody know where we stood with him before he committed to the Hoos? Did we recruit him hard before? Is this a long-standing relationship, or would we be new players?

I love this too. Every time Wood misses one of those shots, I think to myself "Imagine if he starts to make those... that can create a lot of match-up opportunities in our favor. Fire away."

As long as we are winning, I'm all for it. If he isn't making them consistently by January, I would probably like to see him take fewer long-distant shots once we start playing ACC foes. BUT if he is making them... AWESOME

Not to mention the vitriol spewed at Tim Harris on Twitter, and I can only guess Chavis at this point as well, goes a long way in showing the true colors of the New Hoos

I saw Kevin Sherman's comments on TTL this week that the coaches are still trying to find "one really good" WR before February. I guess this means some of the athlete commits don't project as well, or may not be able to step in and play from day one? I thought it was an interesting comment.

I wouldn't call him a west coast guy (other than recruiting California for La Tech since they're in WAC).

Sonny Dykes is a West Texas guy (which might as well be Pac country)

Tony Franklin is a Kentucky boy who has spent his entire 20+ yrs of coaching in 4 states, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana. I'd say that Virginia is much less of a stretch than California. The real question is whether he wants to be a head coach at the collegiate level. If so, he may get a crack at Louisiana Tech

I still like Fridge. I think Shane can make up for his lack of recruiting and Fridge help us put some points on the board. But I don't know if he'd take the job just because he's old and might not want to coach anymore. How about Tony Peterson? He's right down the road at Marshall and their offense has been pretty good this year. I don't know if he'd fit in here because he loves throwing the ball, but it couldn't be worse than O'Cainspring, right?

I completely agree with you here. Its as though every fan wish list item was rolled into the post and issued as sourced information. Now, it could all be true, but we should all be skeptical (as we all seem to be) until proven otherwise.

Plus, now that Sonny Dykes is headed out west to Cal and Franklin is a West Coast guy, who's to say he doesn't join Sonny in Berkeley?

like who?? i'm not sure they can. look at his offense's numbers. i don't like the idea of fridge for a few reasons -- mainly because he doesn't like to recruit (from what i've heard).

i think that the hc or oc at odu would be a good hire -- i just don't know that i like the air raid offense.

If he doesn't get the HC job there, how about Mike Dunbar at NIU? I don't know if anyone has watched them this year, but Jordan Lynch is a smaller version of LT3. He's a powerful runner with a strong arm who can win the game with his arm or his legs. Dunbar has done a great job this year with him and now they're in a BCS game. If NIU doesn't offer him the HC job then I think we should take a run at him. But I do think it's unlikely for them not to offer him the HC job.

I used to never agree with you but now we do.

Also, I typo'd that. I meant to say schools want to announce hires.

Ive written long posts on this site and others before about why we need to go to the SEC. Didnt want to do it again.

As I read this forum, I am drinking my water out of a VT tumbler. The cups are very nice, lasted several years (at least 5 so far) and have had no problems.
