We need an offensive mind. He is that, no matter the shell it comes in. Set him in the box n let him loose calling plays. We have had so much talent that a balanced attack would destroy the ACC (and do very well in the SEC).

It's not about creativity, it's about not being predictable. When we all know what play is being called into the huddle, imagine what the other sides DC is thinking!

If Braxton can run as many times as he did and not get seriously hurt, I think Logan can handle the carries. I don't really like it, but if it is all that works...

For the first point I think you're completely right. I make fun of it when I'm in the stands at every game. And the thing is that it's not just O'Cainspring that does it, watch us on kickoffs, we put a guy in motion on the freaking kickoff! What could that possibly accomplish?

On the second point, you're right that our play-actions don't do anything. And to even further your point, I think our first 5 plays out of the I-formation in any game are play-actions. Who is going to bite on a play-action when you haven't shown that you'll run the ball out of that set the whole season?

I just made this my desktop background.

was WAY over-zealous IMO. To saddle these 2 young men with a felony charge that they will never be convicted of is ridiculous. I was a federal law enforcement officer for 12 years and having even been charged with a felony is enough to deny a person a career in a bunch of different fields. Sending a message is one thing, depriving a couple of young men the ability to compete in a crowded employment field for something that should have been a misdemeanor from the beginning is BOGUS. Prosecutorial discretion was not exercised here in order to score some media points. Were they idiots? Yes. Did their actions merit a felony charge? No way, because the prosecutor knows it will never stick.

And don't worry about the bigness, it actually brought a bug to my attention and it's fixed. Thanks!

Our team is doing pretty well with an up-tempo attack using the 8 man rotation that we currently have available in competitive games. Doubt we could sustain a full court press very long without wearing the guys out. Might be feasible in some blowouts if we use a few of the walk-ons, but I doubt we go that route since we have not seen it yet. Next year could be a lot different though with a full bench.

He sounds somewhat polished, might be a spark for WVU.

The versatile forward averaged 18.2 points and 11.1 rebounds while shooting 53% from the floor during the U-18 European Men's Championship.

In addition, Gerun played in two games (for a total of two minutes) for Denipro of the VTB United League - a professional league consisting of teams from Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine.

Maryland's Alex Len (a friend and former teammate of Gerun's) and West Virginia's Deniz Kilicli played in similar leagues and were required to sit out part of their freshmen seasons. Gerun may be required by the NCAA to do the same.

He said at the beginning of the year that he wants to unleash 40 minutes of hell at some point but I don't think we have enough bodies to do it this year. That would really tire out Green and we saw last game how much we need him on the court.

Frank hasnt done it and wont do it. He will let Newsome and Cavanaugh retire and act like the changes were made...more smoke screen BS like he did when he made Ocain the play caller and brought in Shane.

We have to be the only school in the country that has a scapegoat QB coach calling the plays with the OC sitting right next to him. If thats how bad it is ---it wont change until Frank is gone...and I hate to say this --I really do, but Frank brought Tech to the promise land and he will take them right back to 2-8-1 and leave on shitty note UNLESS........... he makes changes on offense. You know he reads this blog.

DO SOMETHING FRANK ! The pay aint justified for the OC !

It freezes no one. Logan has huge hands and should fake the ball with one hand.
He runs the ball so damn much..Im surprised he didnt get hurt. Hes a tough kid and I think with a better offense --he will excel.

We have to be the easiest team in the country to scout. I think we run a total of 5 plays on offense. 3 of them are running plays and the other 2 are the fade route and the throw the ball up in the air route.

Our playbook is the size of a mini wafer.

Once again--everything is based off kicking a field goal--NOT GETTING IN THE END ZONE.
I explain it like this --if our offense was a car with a stick shift..we would go from first to second gear but never reach 3rd or 4th. If it got going too fast in second we would need to pull over.

How Meta! Haha, assume you meant a blend of 2 and 3.

Overall, I think you're right on with your gut feelings. And for me, it's still 'in Beamer I trust'. At least until we have a few more seasons like this. But I think the guy, beyond being loyal to a fault, is ultra-competitive, and still sharp enough to see what needs to happen to get back on the right side of the win column.

That is the scenario that I would least want to happen. It is just that I have heard plenty of people argue that he would make a better HC than OC, stating that he is a better manager than strategist. Not sure if I believe them, but in either case I don't see how anyone could argue that he has earned that promotion.

Noted. But that was many years and pounds ago. Seriously, I would legitimately question if he is still capable of being the "attention to detail" guy I think we desperately need.

By the way, I'm not a supporter of the Stinespring offense (cluster f).

Meh. The accolades you just mentioned are between 13 and 22 years old. That's a long time ago. Sure, his schemes and plays might still be good - - but does he have the energy and attention to detail required to teach his players?
