For what its worth, Jeff Ermann (InsideMDSports, Twitter handle @insidemdsports), who was one of the first to break the Maryland to B1G news, tweeted that he "believes" Georgia Tech has applied for admission to the B1G and is simply awaiting to hear the result of the application. Though flimsy at best, it is the latest statement I've read on the topic. Other beat writers have begun tweeting similar information from "reliable sources" (apparently different sources than Kevin Jones, the infamous misspelling DC reporter). Though it was denied last night by the Georgia Tech AD, many of the same beat writers and other analysts have speculated that nothing else will be said until GT receives the B1G's decision (duh). If the ACC loses another long-time member such as GT then I would hope Weaver would begin to reconsider VT's future with the Conference. I would then assume the next domino to fall would either be UVA (probably not from what I understand), FSU, or Clemson followed by VT and NCSU.

I am negotiating with the wife to pack up the kids and head to Orlando. 3 Days at Disney and one evening for the game. Love the match up with Rutgers, should be a good game.

The way we've been doubling in the post is an aggressive move that I predict we'll be seeing under Coach Johnson. He said he was very aggressive on defense and liked to trap a lot. He hasn't been able to implement his entire defensive strategy due to the lack of players, but I expect to see a lot of changes defensively in year two. He also said that the players picked up the offense a lot quicker than the defense, so I think that's why we're seeing a little struggle. However, the defensive intensity increased tremendously in the second half, and our rotations were a lot better. I can't remember any wide open dunks in the second half, and I expect we will get better in regards to that every game.

I was in the corner of Cassell, so I got a view at how much room he had to shoot. With the athletes the cowboys had, they can contest the shot more than in previous games. He had little room to shoot and I think that had an effect on his shot. Maybe he feels comfortable taking the shot, I don't know him, but I think we could have gotten a better look. He's a great shooter (as he's proven this year), but I will still stress shot selection.

The season winner was HokieV at 65% that's 4-2 every week for the most part. damn. great job. RiVA finished a 2nd at 61% which is outstanding as well. Vince, you broke VTColtTXRangers 2 year run as champ.

I'll need to round up joe and take vince, steve (VTColtTXRangers for yrs past) for drinks.

Also, thanks to HokieV/Bodak, RiVAHokie, weavez22, vthokie1965, ko1220vt and StLHokie for participating all 14 weeks.

btw, I plan on doing something for the bowls too.
