# | London Fires Coaches, Grants Rocco's Release, Still Refuses to Call Timeouts VT is likely 5 yrs from being an AAU member, is a large land-grant university with a major focus on research .. their academics are right in line with the bottom half of the b1g (iowa, michigan state, indiana, purdue, nebraska) at academic ranking of #72. maryland is at #58 (not much of a difference).
and btw, nebraska isn't in the aau

# | A Damning Indictment of Bryan Stinespring and Curt Newsome by "The Best Left Tackle In the NFL" "Wildcats" should probably be on this list.
It's called a win. We need the win. What have we won, twice, before? So a third win is (gets calculator out.....button...button...reboot...) like somewhere need a 50% increase in wins!
Just win the freaking game!
Did we even score 50 points total this season?
Everyone seems to feel that Georgia was slighted by not getting a BCS bowl but Florida did. Keep in mind UGA had 2 TWO wins over teams with winning records this season. Just because they are in the SEC people figure they must have been amazing.
If anything, Florida has a better argument for a team that didn't win it's division for going to the title than a team like Alabama last year. Wins over top 10 LSU, South Carolina, and Texas AM, Florida clearly deserves to be in a BCS game IMO
Florida gets a BCS bowl because it is a rule that the top 4 teams are guaranteed spots in a BCS bowl. Also a rule that no more than 2 teams from a conference can be in BCS bowls, so Bama and Florida took that from Georgia. That one is at least cut and dry. Same goes for LSU. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of who is the better teams in these games. There are 2 things that the bowl games look at when they are creating matchups...who do they HAVE to take (bowl tie-ins) and who creates the best potential for making money. That's all it is after the BCS Championship Game. Nothing else matters.
I doubt a president who the BOV tried to fire earlier in the year would give the board cause to fire her by lying to them.
I will believe GT is moving when Brett McMurphy says they are moving.
Appreciate all that you do, bco!

If OSU has a strong season and makes it into the tourney as well as at least a 6th round seed IMO.

Haven't heard much positive reaction to #UVa football coaching changes.— Douglas Doughty (@DoughtySports) December 3, 2012
#UVa defense had a better year than UVa offense. "They got it backwards," onerival coach said of Cavalier coaching changes.— Douglas Doughty (@DoughtySports) December 2, 2012

is well taken. Maybe the ACC leadership knew about UMD preparing to leave the conference for quite a while. Maybe the AD's, BOV's, and assorted leaders of the ACC universities knew it as well.
I doubt that it was common knowledge though b/c the more people know about a big news story, the sooner the press latches onto it. How soon before the actual move did we find out about rumours circulating? 48 hours maybe? I think the inside circle of power brokers who knew about the UMD/Rutgers move beforehand was very small. We would have heard something from the media instantly if this move had been well known amongst the ACC leadership crowd.
Do I believe that AAU universities consider themselves a cut above the rest of the college crowd? ABSOLUTELY! The B1G will not even sniff at a non-AAU program, which is why VT will not get an invite. They have their little club and you don't get in without first having the creds.

It seems like Georgia Tech, Virginia, and North Carolina are pre-approved as expansion candidates by the Big Ten presidents so I don't think GT would have to go throw an application process.
Another important thing is Maryland had to sign an NDA with the B1G. More than likely the denials from GT and UVA are just that, and those schools plan to stay the course with the ACC. However, if they are blatantly lying to folks, it's because they can't do anything else. A "no comment" would lead to speculation, and they can't talk about any impending move because they signed to keep mum.
Meh. It's fun to watch teams like NIU get in a piss everyone off in the BCS's last year IMO. It sucks for teams like UGA and LSU, but you can't make everyone happy. Give this playoff system 8-10 years. You'll have teams griping about not getting into the playoffs. May not even take that long.
... they know how to use the twitter machine properly
Yeah- I really doubt this is going to happen to be honest. I think the various sports outlets, beat writers, and of course the World Wide Leader would be blowing up with reports. I haven't seen anything new when I've checked so....yeah, doesn't seem likely to me- likely by tomorrow morning that is.
We better win this by 50, so I can sleep this off season, or lose convincingly, so Beamer knows O'cain, Newsome, and Sherman all have to go and Stinespring needs to be moved back to the tight end and offensive line position.
I'm thinking, if VT is on the bubble come March, the committe will put them in for 2 reasons:
1. This Win
2. They fired Seth Greenberg
We're gonna take a chrome Rutgers helmet and that Va Tech pro combat jersey with the circuits on it and we're gonna make ourselves a Cylon— RussellAthleticBowl (@RussellAthBowl) December 3, 2012
White jerseys, orange pants, and the cartoon Hokie helmets with an orange base!!!!!!1111!!!1!!!1!
So what bad uniform combination/terrible helmet creation do we decide to wear to finish off this season?
When we have a down year?

wait .... hahahaha
unlikely. fsu was gaining traction.
he will have a new h.s. coach though.

don't think defense is the problem but i'd agree that up to this point, hasn't delivered the way that we need for him to (recruiting-wise). from what i've heard, he's a great coach though .. and brings a lot of energy to practice and the sidelines .. and fwiw -- he has a few more seasons before the jury is out .. no need for unnecessary changes --- CFB needs to focus on getting the offense right
