and we have been behind for quite sometime, although i will say that with the right personel our offense is legit, ie danny coale and boykin, dw4 etc.., but on the other hand with that same cast we couldnt score jack on clemson that year. My opinion is that heads need to be rolled on the offensive side of the ball, qb coach, oline coach and stiney need to go on somewhere, if Frank chooses not to do this, then i say we make a petition to take that God forsaken empty trophy case out of the atheltic dept because that is not our goal and hasnt been for quite sometime.

Is that the conference is no longer valuing academics. If that's what's important to the conference, stick to your guns. If it isn't, there is no reason we should have taken Louisville when WVU was on the table, which is a school that is a better fit loacation wise, and athletically stronger.
... comments like this make me sad.
The only thing I think we gain by adding Louisville is a nice away game in the early fall. Other than that adding Louisville is blah. I guess at least hokiesq gets one more game to go to every few years.
Saving two timeouts to ice an opposing kicker twice at the end of a game.

I'm with you. I don't really have a problem with Louisville. Louisville is the only school I would consider from the Little East. Maybe cincy too.
My problem is with us still being in the ACC, but as long as we're in the ACC, Louisville isn't a terrible move.
I'm with you. I don't care what it is as long as it works.
34. Cincinnati
An actual offense that actually works?
9. Washington, DC
26. Baltimore
30. Hartford-New Haven
50. Louisville
Yes, and I'm not faulting the ACC for failing to see the future, but this is just another example of the ACC being reactive vs. proactive in the expansion race. We can't keep taking additions from the weak football conferences and expect to strengthen the ACC.
Just because coaching changes haven't been announced, doesn't mean they haven't been lined up. It's like how some guys don't dump their girlfriend without having the next one ready to go.
Bowl victory = ideal outcome for coaching staff = shines up the turd that was this season = unlikely that changes are made. Just my opinion.
he can do no wrong in my eyes.
As long as more of the members of our conference don't jetset the hell out of here, I'm fine with Louisville coming in... As some people have said, they're having recent success in their football program with players such as Teddy Bridgewater and their basketball program will bolster that area of the conference as many have said the ACC is in a decline.
Still, I'm not a huge fan of all this chaos and the fact that we're still sitting on our hands watching it all...
Would seem to fit the talent that we can recruit, and would give us the option to spread/air it out for quick points or use power running for ball control/clock management.
agreed, especially if you do a direct comparison of Maryland vs. Louisville in football and basketball.
He's getting old and he likes to fully think through a decision, even if it's one that needs to be made urgently (urgently = years ago). IF it even happens, I'm predicting Frank will wait until signing day in February so that it doesn't interfere with the new recruiting class. Also it plays into the whole loyalty and stubbornness (new word: stuboyalty) side of his personality.
If we realign the divisions I say VT should be put in the East Division. Of the SEC.
why everyone is so down on Louisville. They are a decent football program as of late and add some beef on the basketball end. If UVA and GT do head to the B1G I'll drive the wagon for the SEC, but until then, not a bad addition.
Also ironic that Montrezl couldnt commit to an ACC school yet here we are.
Hahahaha, I love the Office... Not so much lately since Steve Carrell left. But this is a classic moment.
How about no more POWER BACK STRETCH PLAYS ON 3RD DOWN?!?
I'm actually for adding Navy, probably because my brother is a graduate, but for a couple other reasons too. Navy would likely become the highest-ranking ACC institution in terms of academics, would bring in a lot of those vacated Maryland TV sets and increase TV market share throughout DC and on a national scale. Competitive in football (think of who they've beaten with a roster of zero-stars), excellent in some of the Olympic sports, and a different culture the ACC doesn't have. Makes a lot more sense to add them than to keep, say...Boston College.

why didnt they want wvu?
because fuck motherfuckin wvu thats why!
