I don't think so. WVU is bad this year, I mean really bad. And while we've only beaten cupcakes, WVU doesn't even look like they're capable of doing that. I'll take us in that one. Iowa is another team that really hasn't beaten anyone, so again, even though our schedule has been easy, they are in the same spot as us. I'd put tonight as a toss-up. That leaves the OK State game, and I'm leaving my judgement for that one until after I see us play tonight.
Major fail!
I kind of figured that's what Mike was trying to do. He failed.
He's a failure.
He's a loser.
He's a WAHOO!
Could you with a fake lunch pail?
No sir, no sir, UVA fail!
Their thing is a picnic basket.
The academic side of the expansion argument popped into my mind yesterday when I first read this thread. Of the three schools, Cinci has (to my knowledge) a stronger research pedigree.
Now, what I'm about to say is irrelevant to 99% of you guys, but as an Architect, the thought of having Cinci and Syracuse in our conference would be great from a relationship standpoint, as the three of us are consistently ranked amongst the top 5-7 an an annual basis.
Now athletically - which I think most can agree is the driving issue at hand - we can debate between Louisville, UConn and Cinci. But Tech has long maintained their desire to be apart of the ACC is both geographic and academic. Otherwise we'd probably be hearing more substantive #VT4SEC rumors...Cinci is just ghetto (see Gates, Yancy), and if Campus PD has taught me anything, its that I need to be careful on the mean streets of Cincinnati when I've been enjoying a few beverages.
Cincy is pushing hard to be the team if the ACC only takes one.

Cincinnati's talking points center on the success of the football team in the last five years, the combined success of football and men's basketball in the top 25 as recently as last year, the Cincinnati media market, the fertile Ohio football recruiting ground and its strength as a research institution.
The source said Cincinnati has stepped up the push to get into the ACC in light of the Big East adding Tulane as an all-sports member and East Carolina in football on Tuesday.
Agreed.
Hopefully not at the same time as The Walking Dead

A win is always the goal but more important this year. After the season we've had we need to carry over something positive into next year.
Great read.

He would have tackled Exum if he weren't tackled.
Seth would probably sit there...smirk at the camera while talking about the lack of quality OOC opponents, all the while sending a picture of his genitals to Jim Weaver with a caption that says "GOTCHA B**CH".
Do you think he and Jay Bilas will whine for us if we are on the bubble?
Our non conference schedule is atrociously awful (we are sitting in the 330's in SOS up to this point) and really won't get too much better since we have a very short list of competitive teams in that slate. Couple that with a still weak ACC, and it is going to be very difficult to get to the dance this year. The ACC per kenpom is roughly a 10% favorite to win the challenge against the b1g which was UNHEARD of years ago when going 7-9 in the conference was a lock to get to the NCAAs. Taking advantage of a down conference is really a challenging thing to do because it requires you to win almost every game you should and then beat a few teams better than you. The ACC has been sending 5-6 teams to the dance the past few years and I don't really see that changing in 12-13.
We are going to learn a lot about this team in the next week against some strong competition, so just enjoy the ride for now and hopefully we have ourselves a sweat to get into the dance in march.
I will then start a column called "talkin' Dutch with JVZ" where I randomly translate words and sentences from English to Dutch to properly yell at opponents.
The biggest irony of the entire season is that if this team plays up to its potential, it will land on the bubble. When they land on the bubble, strength of schedule is going to to play a huge factor (which is terrible right now, and won't get much better even with Okie State). Who scheduled all these teams?
The one, the only....that's right kids! Seth Greenberg!
So somehow, the Hokies can find themselves on the bubble because of Seth again...and will ultimately fall on the wrong side of it without some big time wins (like more than one over the top tier).
haha was gonna post this, it's making the rounds on tumblr too
I really want to go to Atlanta to play one of those top 10 SEC teams. With how bad our season is that'd be a game that could at least make this a decent season. Plus, if we can get a win over a top 10 team in our bowl game then we're more likely to start the year ranked next year.
I like this premise. But more practice is always good too.
That my two year old niece, and one year old nephew recite this poem until the day the world ends.
And every Hoo down in Hoo-ville cried, "Boooo hooo..."

It would be a bad move in my opinion to replace the coaches before the bowl game. we still want to win that game for sure and having interim coaches at spots would be detrimental. One thing you could do would be just to say that the bowl game is the last game for a certain coach, which could work, or it could backfire. I would rather us wait until the offseason to start thinking about coaching changes
