# | Mel Kiper calls Logan Thomas the most disappointing player so far this season. from Arlington with about 25+ Hokies!! Go Hokies
Works like a charm. And thanks for the thoughtful reply Joe.
...for the #1 RB in the country to care about competition.
Do we really have more competition than Michigan, Clemson and Auburn?

# | Mel Kiper calls Logan Thomas the most disappointing player so far this season. If Logan leaves, Leal is clearly the starter next year, and it's not even close. One of the real advantages of Logan staying (besides the obvious) is that it would allow Bucky to Redshirt (I would imagine). Logan stays, Leal is the backup, 3rd string is Gresh (or is he a senior?), Bucky redshirts. That then gives him 4 years of eligibility, with a year already under his belt in the system, if not any actual experience.
I always thought one of the biggest things JuJu ever did for us was to beat out Marcus Davis for the backup job to Tyrod. Let Marcus move to WR, which is certainly big for us at this point, and earned enough of the coaches' confidence to redshirt Logan. Also a huge plus for us. So he never won us any games directly, but was pretty important to the program in so many ways. Leal could be the same, even if he never does get the chance to start. I always have a soft spot for those guys. We have to remember, they work really hard too. /end of novel
but I don't think the issue is us shutting down Green's recruitment. I think it's that Green did not want to go to a team with a lot of top RB talent. We're already loaded with last year's class so bringing in Reid kind of shuts the book, especially since we were somewhat behind already.
I forgot all about him, but he's an exciting prospect.
Mike: Edmunds/Wright/Moss
Backer: Clarke/McKinnon/Motu'
Whip: Vandyke/Vandyke/Shegog
Evan Watkins said the same thing, that with Reid, we're done with Green. I understand that we probably weren't going to get Green anyway, but he's a totally different player than Reid. I could understand shutting down the recruitment of Green if we landed Harris, who is a very similar player, but Reid is a slash back.
I hope we keep the same effort on Green. I've always thought the longer he takes, the more likely we will be to stay in it. It's always nice to have a local option on the table in January, so when Grandma says at Christmas, "Derrick, I'm getting old and I don't want to have to fly to Ann Arbor to see you play..." then you're in.
I really like Reid, he looks like a Brandon Ore clone to me. Good complement to Harris and JCC.
If you have a keyboard with a Home key...that works and that is what I use on my computer.
all indications are that fisher is very solid to VT .. he promised bama and tOSU officials after they offered and he's gonna make good on them. i'm sure they'll throw everything under the sink at him but i'm not worried about losing him, to be honest. the only way i see that happening is if he is unable at VT but can at bama. you never know but not too worried. he and a few current hokies (and future hokies) are very tight (caleb, jefferson, to name a few).
great news on dj .. he's a great catch. no chance we get green now (which is ok). sounds like hamilton is the big fish to catch now (and we're still after dorian johnson -- but not gonna happen). it's nice that they've been able to mainly focus on 2014 recruiting (as far as recruiting goes) since early summer. it's a monster of a class with some HUGE prospects and needs full attention.
to add -- trey edmunds needs to be moved back to LB ... now
Scrolling elements on a page is tricky design (much easier to implement). One of the things I try to do here is keep everything as basic as possible. If I were to scroll them with the page the site might end up looking like gmail-- the sidebars stay put while you read the emails, you focus on a sidebar to scroll within them (long chat lists anyone). I think the site would lose a lot of its current feel for the worse.
However, getting back to the top of the page is important. Personally, I just use my browser shortcut. In Chrome on a Mac I just hit command + up key to jump to the top of the page. I think all modern browsers have a similar shortcut. One thing I could add is a link back to the top of the page, perhaps a small up arrow at the bottom of each comment, or footer of the site.
I definitely appreciate the feedback, so please keep it coming.
West by God - But seriously Baylor, prove me wrong.
NC State - BCO, you should have done over / under for actual and announced attendance.
nati - Hokies win in a close one.
theOSU - Ohio State will treat this like a championship game. Michigan State can't move the football, Braxton Miller will be the difference maker.
UGA
Tejas - Only 2.5 points, what are people doing with their money?
Is there any other acceptable drink for this weekend?

I hope to see you all at FedEx, go Hokies!
Yup, Reid's commitment means Derrick Green is going elsewhere. He's a terrific player too, but Drew Harris is that workhorse back, Edmunds too, Reid brings something different to the table, so in the end we might be better off.
Beamer Co. will continue to recruit a player as long as the player wants to be recruited. We kept recruiting Jamieon Moss after he verbaled too ECU. I hope we hold onto Fisher because he's a terrific talent. A lot of times kids will take their visits because they're there to take, like Caleb last year.
im going no matter what.
And I love this reference to ECW!! Hillarious...this is all it thought about every single time I read "RVD"!
There are 9 of us leaving from the big city of Culpeper and meeting more friends there, so we should have a pretty big tailgate going on.
If TKP were to love adorable cats like Reddit, I would not object
Lets keep it going this week
1. Baylor
2. Wolfpack wins and spray paints NWO on all 6 fans at the game (wait, did the Wolfpack use the spray paint or was that just Hollywood Hogan's NWO?)
3. Hokies win the Matchup in Maryland, or the Rumble in Raljon, or the Landslide in Landover. FedEx field is not in DC.
4. Urban Meyer
5. Bulldogs
6. Hook em Horns
Beer - ice cold Miller Lite pulled from a cooler in the parking lots of Dan Snyder's house
WVU - rebound this week

See you downtown. Can't wait to watch in the same time zone with some other Hokies.
So FSU is back. Hmm. I feel like I've heard that before. Back as in "Men in Black Episode 3"? Or back as in "Brett Favre taking the Vikings to within one play of the Super Bowl". I say give them more time. Colors will show. I really bought into their performance against Clemson, but then again, as the illustration suggests, was that as much credit to FSU performing well--or Clemson choking on their own spit again. I firmly believe that if we can right the ship on offense--quickly, then we stand as good a chance as anyone to winning the conference. Down with the spear...and kitty-cats...

# | Mel Kiper calls Logan Thomas the most disappointing player so far this season. Dont get me wrong: I am high on Bucky Hodges. But it would be too much to ask of a true freshman to open his collegiate career against the Tide. We're going to be licking our wounds after this season, and we'll need all the experience and maturity we can get if we are to even stand in the same ring as Alabama. Logan gives us the best shot. If he's gone, Leal is a great option...even moreso than heralded Mr. Hodges. Leal is smart, plays within himself, knows the offense, and has a set of wheels. Many a friend in my circle are already calling for Leal to supplant Logan. I think that's blasphemy at this point...but the idea is clear: there isnt much drop-off from Logan to Leal. Bucky will--and should wait a full year before he "saddles up".
What are the chances that a team nicknamed the Gobblers are playing against a QB nicknamed "Munchie"...what should we expect at halftime? An appearance by Ice Tea? Meatloaf? Maybe FedEx field should hand out scooby-snacks in honor of the pre-Thanksgiving "duel in the district"...let's just hope our team is "hungry" enough to ink out a win. Time to step up to the big boy table, Cincy-nat-ee.
Tech is running out of scholarships to offer, however this was one they really wanted. He is athletic, fast, good frame, and local. My kind of pickup. I like the fact that everyone talks about his intangibles; power and speed, things you just cant teach. Cant wait to see who emerges as our top tailback next year; will it be Edmunds? Coleman? Harris? We show alot of promise. After seeing this commit and reading the recent posts on Derrick Green, I think we can pretty much close the book on tabbing the #1 rivals running back out of Richmond. Lets just hope we can hang onto Holland Fisher. He's going to Alabama this weekend and Ohio State later in the year. What's up with other coaches tampering with our verbals? Isnt that an unspoken rule? Its almost like someone messing with your girl after she's made public she's with you. Not kosher.

...who like Carlis Parker better than Bucky. Hodges has a very awkward motion, that will stuff will need to be relearned.
