if the big board updates as we post? "This is a test"
Number 6! Coming up on post/comment #300. And I've been on here less than a year. Noice.
Joe - just a thought, and maybe a bad one, but I wondered if the dashboard and new 'what's new' button could scroll with us as we scroll down the page. I ask because I find that I'm using it exclusively now to pop around the site, and on long articles with tons of comments it takes a while to get back to it to move on to the next amazing content or community discussion...
I'm no web designer, and maybe this is a bad look or a coding issue, but I just noticed that you have the real estate for it as the column underneath is always free, and it might be useful to folks.
Thanks again for all you do, and taking the time to poll users for feedback! Hoping to run into you or some of these other community people at the game Saturday (my first this year)!

# | Mel Kiper calls Logan Thomas the most disappointing player so far this season. I agree. Our team and our players never play well when we have the hype going our way. For example, Jayron Hosley, as an unknown entry into our defense in 2010 had a great season, snagging 9 or 10 picks, including one off of the great Andrew Luck in the Orange Bowl, but then has a dismal following season.
Part of that stemmed from lack of throwing his way, part from his hamstring injury, but he also wasn't as much of a force in coverage when teams DID throw his way.

was the mistake. Of course he was going to regress. What part of a new offense, with a new O-line, new RB, and a new WR set suggests that he'll be better than last year? The most disappointing aspect of LT3's game has been his mechanics, which I think are due to two reasons. One, he's thinking too much with new offense and two, he's trying to do too much without a running game to speak of. Once these get established, maybe we can expect the LT3 chuck-and-truck offense we loved in 2011.

# | Mel Kiper calls Logan Thomas the most disappointing player so far this season. I believe that he has to get comfortable to a degree with the new personnel around him and the lack of production from the running game thus far. On the other hand, his execution on throws should not be affected by that and all of the high balls he's thrown are clearly unacceptable.
But I believe he does turn it around soon. He's not going to be a Heisman contender or top 5 draft pick, but that's good for us. We'll have him next season.
Ruining football careers year after year. I think both Taylor and JGW look slow compared to past seasons. I wonder if Chase could be more of a playmaker at the Backer position, but I don't remember him making an impact in the Austin Peay game. Either way, VT needs disruption from it's linebackers, and replacing JGW with RVD is one step in the right direction.
If he wants to rip off Rob Van Dam's celebration once and gets flagged for it I won't yell. If he does it twice I'll yell.

We did a day trip for USC, left early in the morning, and got back in the middle of the night. We even had to play a mini concert for a bunch of high roller alumni outside of fairfax. I don't want to hear the whining about how the logistics sucks or whatever. You all are in college; you will live. This is for the team. You should WANT to go.

# | Mel Kiper calls Logan Thomas the most disappointing player so far this season. He's been atrocious so far this season. I don't buy the whole "comfort level" excuse. Yes, it took him a while to get going last year, but that's to be expected from someone who never started a game. I understand we're breaking in some new offensive schemes and it can't be expected to click right off the bat, but how much of his mistakes can be tied to the new system?
Yeah, I was in it for the Boise State game and it wasn't so good. The big thing is the new building though for them to have as a home. If I had to guess, athletics will show their support with a donation to that. Doesn't make a lot of sense not to send them, but oh well.
Yes but the decision to the send the mvs should be a no brainer if the other school's band is going. Athletics has the money; they just choose not to spend it for whatever reason.
I was in the MVs for the USC game and it wasn't that bad.
option 2 is the secret to success in this game. didn't want to give it up.

sounds delicious & my type of stout.
No picks from me, but I'm a homebrewer, and I'm currently working on a Hokie Porter: Chocolate Porter aged on oak with Wild Turkey. It should be ready by December.
Where can I send a bottle?
WVU - WVU will stumble against other B12 teams but not this one.
NCSU - although if I'm wrong the U is clearly back.
UC - changed based on Tony Gregory news. UC will at least cover because of his absence on offense.
MSU - Braxton will be amazing but not this year.
UGA - UF isn't that great and UT lost to them at home. UGA is better and the game is in Athens so they will win by a greater margin.
Longhorns - Better team by far and away.

You never know, with the tight-ass restrictions on celebrations, that could be an unsportsmanlike conduct on him.
