I feel like DG is heading to Ann Arbor all the way
Georgia, Arkansas, West Virginia, are all too high. I think USC is the best team in the SEC East. If Petrino were still there, I'd have the Hogs in the top 5. Aside from hilarious Tweets (https://twitter.com/JohnL_Smith/status/231043609384861697), who knows what they're getting out of John L. Geno Smith is one of the best QBs in the country, Holgo is a terrific offensive mind, but the 'Eers never dominated the Big East. I think it'll quickly become apparent (10/6 @Texas) they're not as talented/deep as the traditional Big 12 powerhouses.
I wouldn't have Stanford ranked without Luck, the same goes for Boise without Moore.
Notre Dame; obligatory.
I'm really surprised Georgia Tech didn't crack the top 25, not only that, the Bees are behind Washington and Louisville.
So, if the refs dont forget what constitutes a catch in OT, would we be ranked top 10?
nope
I also declare shenanigans on Florida, Notre Dame, Texas, and Boise
Really enjoyed your thoughts on the ACC Joe, and I also found it interesting to see an outsider's perspective on the conference. I didn't listen past your part though, since the rest of the content wouldn't have been very interesting to me. And I can't believe Phil Steele has FSU as the national champs... they may have a good defense this year, but EJ Manuel is highly overrated in my opinion. Until teams like FSU and Miami prove otherwise, lofty expectations for them will always be shot down.
Preseason polls don't really matter
5 SEC teams in the top team??? bitch please ... i'm fine with this as well but at the same time, where you start does make a difference towards the end of the season when it comes to perception. either way, as much as i dislike fsu and clemson, i hope they're both undefeated until we whip their asses. We typically deal with lower expectations better.
my $.02 ... there are at least four teams ranked ahead of us that shouldn't be: Nebraska, TCU, Stanford, and Okey State
West Virginia's, Nebraska's, and Oklahoma State's rankings are fucking laughable
I'm not going to argue #20, but everyone has their own issues and there are always teams that get free passes on them. The one that really pissed me off was Michigan. If we returned the entire team from last year plus our injured and recovered starters VT would not be ranked that high.
I will be singing 'Black Heart Gold Podcast' in my head all day...efff
I rather VT start off lower with having some high ranked opponents.
I would've loved if GT would've started off being ranked but oh well.
With KSU vs. OU, Boise State vs. MSU, ND vs. MSU, AU vs. Clemson, Washington vs. LSU, and GT vs. VT happening before 9/29... I could see Cincy being ranked for FedEx as the first ranked opponent if they beat Pitt.
How many coaches really know that much about all of these teams? Most are making choices based on last season and if any certain player(s) stick out form these teams in their heads. I have no problem with where we are in this. It is better for people to not talk about us so that some of the young players we will be playing will not have to deal with the "expectation" factor. My honest opinion is that we are going to surprise a lot of people this year with an uptempo offense and one of the nastiest D's Bud Foster has coached. The amount of speed we have on both sides of the ball is ridiculous. I caught the tweet LT3 posted about how the offense would make a name for itself this year. Love to hear the confidence he has knowing he has a full year under his belt. I think that the ACC is much better this year then people give credit and by the 4th/5th week of the year the polls will reflect that. Coaches polls are biased to who they play usually anyway.
How does UVA get 9 votes? Is it because we allowed them to get 0 instead of negative points last November?
It seems less and less likely moving into camp that JC Coleman will be the clear cut #2 RB. He provides great value as a change-of-pace back and maybe in the return game, but I wouldn't be totally surprised at this point if he redshirted.
If the five years it took for Davis and Roberts (injuries affected him, but still) to switch from other positions to WR, I'm just not confident Caleb will see the field this year. I agree on Standford - seems like the most natural and field-ready WR in this class.
This was released at what, 12:01 PM today? And now it's 12:08 PM, and you've already got a post on TKP? Well played, sir. Well played indeed.
one of my favorite clips....ever!
Bucky & Kendall need to get on it and do some work recruiting this guy.
Corey Moore’s dominating performance vs. Clemson (’99), including the play where he obliterated the QB and returned for a TD (~8 min mark)

Tyrod’s scrambling TD pass to Wilson vs. Stanford in the Orange Bowl
Dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

rivers stopping pike on fourth down! such a massive play, rivers' first start, bcs game (even if it was against the big east i'll take it any day of the week). lets not forget cinci had a pretty damn prolific offense that year, and to hold them to 7 points? classic bud foster.
also a good play from that game for the vid would be orion martin intercepting pike on a diving shoestring catch, setting up evans td run.
you have to include the kicker flipping off the nc state bench after hitting the game winner in 86 in the peach bowl. after that scene you should have to take a shot of whiskey.
I really appreciate the positive feedback. French, Kevin, Eric (BCO), Brian, everyone who has contributed, and myself try to bring perspective and insight you won't find anywhere else (for free) while having some laughs and intelligent discussion along the way.
I've said all along, the people who comment, post on the boards and share their thoughts are the one's who make this place great and worth doing. As more and more people roll by, it gets better and better. 2012 is going to be our best season yet, I promise that.
For those of you looking for more variations, here is another interesting blitz look. In this look, the mike backer (Taylor) goes bananas in the middle during the pre-snap read of the quarterback for Arkansas State. With the back and the QB focused on Taylor and Edwards, who has moved to the outer edge of the line, they fail to notice Fuller sneaking in backside. At the snap, Taylor drops into a zone, Fuller and Edwards come off the edge, and the stud end (Wilson) drops to cover the left flat. I anticipate that the safety has the sideline deep third behind Fuller.

The Hokies did not show this as much after Taylor was hurt. Tyler may be a better tackler, especially in space, but Taylor is much more well rounded, especially in coverage.
I can tell you, if he is 6'1, I am 6'3. I dwarf him. He looked about 5'10, 240 in pads.

It seems like Wang got a lot of support from the coaches as being the most technically sound lineman, i think one quote was "best technician." Hopefully he gets his weight up.
I def like having Via there to spell and challenge both at the guard spots and possibly at tackle to keep all OL from getting complacent.

Bucky is pushing Wyatt Teller and JC is on Jalyn Holmes, as least according to Twitter
