If Greenberg was the reason that DFS wanted to leave that would make him the 6th Transfer under Greenberg's tenure: Thorns, Boggs, Atkins, Garland, Thompson and Finney-Smith. While Thompson might have transferred out to be closer to home it still makes you wonder.
Especially when there's some recruiting bits thrown in.
Thanks for sharing, it'll definitely be included in this year's countdown.
The MVs made my 4 years of college as incredible as they were and everybody knows at bowl games, the place to be is by the band. We definitely need our own facility and this is a big step in that direction.
I couldn't tell from BCO's comment earlier if he was maybe slacking off in school and his grades were going down, but he was still ok for the moment i.e. not to the point yet where he would need to prep.
Anyway, this sucks though I am really stoked to see him play.
he will likely go to one of the va prep schools if he does not qual.
i've heard, so my guess is he took the most recent sat and or to see his final h.s. grades. 1 of the 2 has to come up, is how i've gathered it.
Isn't that the same thing?
I figured I would chime in here quickly. Firstly, I see us winning 10 games and the Division. Though UVA has made strides I think our immediate threats in the Coastal are thug U and GT as usual. With GT I think getting them in week one is great and allows that hurdle to be cleared early/VT to be playing in front for the first weeks. I think Miami is the dark horse but won't comment until I read and hear more about Golden year two. UNC could also be a threat (but same thing- won't comment until I read more on Fedora). In terms of ACC Title, Clemson should be the favorite as the defending champ and I still don't think we match-up well but only time will tell in the new season. I did think the critiques of the offense were a tad harsh but generally fair. The o-line has been a question since I can remember and we're replacing a ton of weapons. Minus LT3, Coles, and Davis, there are a lot of unknowns. As per usual I agree and think that the defense will carry the team. But....Schlabach...(facepalm)....you should really hide your obvious idolizing on air when discussing Mike London (kidding...sort of). Yeah he has brought UVA back to the 757 but from all the stuff I have read thanks to Twitter and the fine enlightened folks on this website, I gotta wonder how long that lasts.
Minus Schlabach's obvious man-crush on Mike London's recruiting in Tidewater, I thought the segment's critical nature was accurate. Though I have to say I disagree on one thing- the offensive line. Though I think the line will improve as the season progresses, I don't ever remember a season saying the o-line was not a question mark since becoming a VT fan ('03/'04). I have to agree with Blackledge: the special teams have to return to being a game changer for VT in a positive way, not a liability or giving the other team momentum via roughing the kicker/poor coverage downfield. Though I think we should have another 10 win season, the group is right in that many question marks appear going into the season.
That being said, in my opinion, we have to beat FSU at home this year. Let's be honest, the Worldwide Leader will hype them up more than my beloved Knicks and Jets and with their schedule they could be entering Lane with only one loss or even undefeated (still don't see them beating Clemson). It would be another chance for Frank to right the ship so to speak with his record against the AP Top 10/5 and would lift a huge burden off the back of the program. I know I sound like Captain Obvious but I have to get it out there....
One of the Facebook poster comments was hilarious:
JJ- "oh i get it, since the canes can't do anything with the 5-star recruits they get, they're trying the exact opposite"
Hahahahahahaha- "the 'Rudy' approach"
Look, I get it that every team has open tryouts (a friend of mine actually made it to last cuts for DE's in 2005/06 and another made the team in '06 as an offensive lineman from tryouts) but this shouldn't have to be advertised in student lounges or dorms (I'm sure Golden has a list...wait, take that back. He may not). Kind of pathetic to be honest and just another thing to laugh at Miami about.
Or close to qualifying?
Any idea when they'll know? This is an understatement, but we night to depend on big time this fall.
but not there yet.
I just seen someone on a message board say they heard Harris was going to have to prep for a year to qualify at VT. That's the first I have heard of that, anyone else caught wind of this situation?
WTF ever happened to Todd Nolen?
The 'l' in Montrezl is silent. He likes to be called "Trez".
Ive heard that JJ is taking a look at Mark Byington from CofC. He's listed as a top assistant in the country. They've also shared an offense when they coached together there. I don't know much other than what i've heard but they've all been pretty positive.
Thankfully 1) we are not WVU and 2) Pat White still sucks
Until I see Montrezl come and say he is solidly here, I am not betting anything. His twitter handle still says he's a VT commit though
What did Al do to destroy the HH-UVA connection?
I hadnt heard JJ talk about the offense being the same as SG's, thats a little scary.
As far as Harrell goes, he never actually requested a release from his LOI did he? So we're good with him right?
Interesting point about JJ being the players' favorite. That could go either way. When RichRod left wvu Stewart was the players' favorite as well. Supposedly Pat White went to the AD and told him the team wanted Stewart. Look how that worked out. Then again if the team really loves JJ they'll play hard for him and believe in his system as long as it's working.
#3. Shit.
Just for once, I'd like to see us win some big games by decent margins. I've seen way too many close games that are won or lost at the last minute. The culture of the offense really needs to change.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this. It's tough losing him because I was really excited to see him in the fall with his tough freshman year behind him. I think it's a shame, really, because he could have brought so much to the table with this team, and I don't know that he will succeed as well at ODU, but who knows?
