If we had won that game he coulda had his 200th game last week...

Beamer is going for his 200th win at Tech Saturday. It would've been more appropriate if he got it at home, but Greenville will have to do.

My tardiness excuse is because Washington DC is under water and I could not get home in time to get my picks in. But taking the better late then never approach in college almost always worked for partial credit, so I'll try it here too.

With OK State up 21-7 I feel fairly confident that they will be able to extend their lead and cover the 14pts.

I believe Arizona State's football team probably doesn't really care if they win or lose because my assumption is that their girlfriends look like every ASU girl pictured above. So I'll take Mizzo to stomp a complacent Arizona State Team.

Last weekend was not a let down by Auburn, it just represented what is left of a asterisk-laden Championship Auburn team. I'll take Dan Mullen's Bulldogs to give the Nat'l Champs their first loss since 2009.

I think it will be a good thing that JoPa can't be on the sideline for this one. I'm not sure his frail body can handle the beating that the Tide is going to lay down in what was once a Happy Valley. Satan, sorry I mean Saban's tide will roll, but man I hate them.

VT vs. ECU. I'll keep this short. Chris Johnson is no longer at ECU, David Wilson is the next mo better Chris Johnson, so I'll take David Wilson to beat the those scurvy pirates with lots of oranges and TDs.

I'll be honest, Utah and USC are both out of my time zone, but I think USC will be ready to welcome Utah to a real conference properly, by giving the Utes (what is a Ute?) a smack down in the coliseum. The fighting baby Kiffins won't need to pop out of a fake horse, stripper style, to beat the Utes so I'll take the Trojans laying the 9.5.

To Recap: Okey Dokey, Mizzo, Misstate, Bama, David Wilson, and USC

what a douche.

are you by chance talking about my sister?

Time's they are a' changing.

Not gonna lie, I'm real nervous about all the rumblings. I'd like to think that Swofford has his ducks in a row and is burning up the telephone lines trying to wheel and deal, but we have no way of knowing that right?

If the ACC is serious about expansion, it will look North like most of you have suggested. Adding programs like UCONN, the SUNJ, the Orange(men), and PITT seems like the logical solution. The prioritization of academics is satisfied. The SUNJ and Orange(men) deliver the NYC market and all it's glorious exposure. And UCONN and PITT offer outstanding basketball pedigrees to a conference that - according to the media at least - needs a couple more heavyweights. The ACC already has a presence in Boston, even if it is BC, so the geographic argument is somewhat satisfied as well. There are worse alternatives than what has been suggested.

But what about the other alternative? Should we bolt for the SEC if they come calling? Consider this. Let's say we are offered the 14th spot. Presumably we get enter into the SEC East. Geographically appropriate, considering aTm will go to the West. This would be a decent competitive step up, but not outlandish. Florida will presumably remain at the top of the heap, but I see us as a program the same level as South Carolina. We have a geographic rivalry with UT-Knoxville (maybe we could finally see that neutral site game at Bristol!), and there is no question we are a better program (now) than UGA, UK, and Vandy. I see no reason why we cannot continue to schedule UVA, and we should be able to keep the Thanksgiving weekend slot too (UGA-GT usually schedule their OOC rivalry that weekend). Culture-wise, we are a great fit with the SEC. I think it's a win-win if we accept an invitation.

Just my thoughts.

I forgot to mention how farfetched it was. I was just taking a look at our dream scenario. I think getting Pitt (or any Big East team) wouldn't be very hard if we attack now (assuming B1G is not in the picture). A Big East with WVU leaving is extremely weak and easy for the picking.

Too bad I missed last week. At least I have a clean slate.

plan to pick up some Duck-Rabbit milk stout while im in North Carolina

There is about a 1% chance this happens if not less. First, WVU is not coming to the ACC. It looks like they are SEC bound if A&M is allowed to leave the Big 12 without being sued. Also, assuming the ACC will land Notre Dame is wishful thinking at best. As it is, Pitt is a stretch but possible. To land all three of those sounds great but I don't see a scenario where the ACC has the power to convince all three.

I feel like this would be a respectable conference, at least lot more than the current ACC. The divisions would make more sense, even though the strength is very much in the north division. I also somewhat ranked the teams within divisions as to how football seasons might play out.

NORTH
1 Virginia Tech
2 Notre Dame
3 WVU
4 Pittsburgh
5 Boston College
6 Maryland
7 Virginia
8 Syracuse/Rutgers/UConn

SOUTH
1 Florida State
2 Miami
3 Clemson
4 Georgia Tech
5 NC State
6 UNC
7 Wake Forest
8 Duke

Bruce Taylor: "Let's check.............. Nope, he's a boy!"

It should not be called college football if academics don't matter. If it's all about money then it should be a commercial enterprise, not athletics. If you took away all the TV contracts and advertising dollars from sponsors would people still attend the games? I think so.

awesome beer. i look forward to more from them

One wonders how the sanctions/investigations/etc will color UNC's thinking on academics being a factor in expansion.
