Arizona - easily a shoot out, but I think they will cover mainly cause I am betting Criner plays
Arizona State - mizzou had a tough time at Miami of Ohio
Mississippi State - Auburn has to many questions on D, and I would still pick them but Miss St has a good mobile QB and a good RB, so they will just barely cover if at all.
Alabama - Bama through 4 picks against Kent State, I mean really? But Penn state has bigger questions at QB and they won't load the box enough to stop Richardson.
East Carolina - ECU puts up points early and VT wins it, but not by 20 points.
USC - If this was at Utah I would say they have it, and they still may, but I just don't think Barkley lets another week like last week happen.

I will be in my 2nd class out of a 3 class class on Saturday from 8:30am to 6pm. So I sadly not be at ECU as I wanted to. When I do finally get out of there I will be drinking

I have a sixer that I shoved in the cellar that I forgot was there so it needs to be drank.

If there is a breakaway would the remaining teams and NCAA reshuffle to create another championship Division? It would create an opportunity since these "super" conferences have been blocking a true FBS championship.

Do I trust we could make it against the likes of FSU, Alabama, or LSU? Remains to be seen.

My other former roommate would LOVE this

But I have a strong feeling schools like UNC and Duke will let the conference slip as a football league before they let it schools outside of the top 100 in academic rankings. If not, bring on USF and ECU!

is going out the window.

this is a pure money grab. the tenets the acc and big 10 stood for over the decade changed.

I really don't think Navy is a player either but I do consider them an option. The best four teams that meet all the criteria and are most realistic are Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers and UConn.

matter so much, those 5 or 6 teams I have listed will be the best options. If the schools/conference decides they are too snobby to "want" a school, then the ACC is doomed to fail. And if they don't want those schools then who within reason can they land? Notre Dame? I doubt it. Texas? Not happening. Teams out west? Very unlikely as several ACC schools have mentioned travel concerns. The options are limited for the ACC if they are considering football, basketball and academics. They just are and being picky only leaves teams like us, FSU and Clemson looking for other options.

thru 2 different people that there is a lot going on behind the scenes.

he is playing dumb, but there is communication with other conferences and teams. I just don't think any of them will jump until the big 3 make their selections.

3 teams? maybe the bluebloods want uconn, the rest of the league doesn't. navy is not a player. period. for that matter neither is cincy.

but I'm not sure for some teams. I agree Pitt, Syracuse, Notre Dame and others like Cincinnati are waiting to see what the Big 10 does but I don't think teams like UConn, Rutgers and Navy are expecting to be at the top of the list. If the ACC finds a way to land two of those three, they are suddenly in a position of power to land two more. The ACC has to be realistic and can't go after teams that would instantly turn them down. That only hurts the conference but shooting for teams within reason is the best approach. However, they do need to make sure WVU is leaving first because they do not have the power to take teams from an already established conference even if it is the Big East.

If it is true that the ACC was caught off guard by expansion then Swofford must go. I have been critical of his "wait-and-see" method and this would be the final straw. To not see it coming is foolish. First, there was never a moment when talk wasn't out there. It just didn't become serious until A&M decided to leave the Big 12. Look, I am a donk and if I saw megaconferences coming, I would hope the ACC commissioner did as well!!

in a vacuum. the teams in the NE that the big 10 may potentially want, know it. it's in their best interest to wait it out. if the big ten goes elsewhere, then jump aboard the acc. the money isn't close.

easy to say for the acc to make the first strike, but they aren't in a position of power.

If the ACC waits, they will get only scraps and that's why they need to go now and specifically after teams in the Northeast. Think about it, the SEC, PAC12 and Big 10 are probably going to be the most aggressive at expansion. Of those conferences, my guess is only the Big 10 goes after teams in the northeast. The ACC has a chance to jump on them now and offer. Maybe Pitt and Notre Dame are targets for the Big 10 but my guess is teams like Clemson, FSU and Tech are targets as well. If the ACC wants to keep those teams, they need to get aggressive as well. Grabbing teams like Navy, Rutgers, UConn and Syracuse gives the ACC what it needs and that is a 16 team conference. In a time when the hype is megaconferences, the ACC can be one of the first to have 16. The BCS as we know it may change and automatic bids may not go to leagues who wait and not expand. If the ACC loses teams and becomes a 9 or 10 team conference, it will be tough to be included as a megaconference. At this point, it's more about adding decent numbers than adding football powers. This is the chance to add good football teams while keeping with basketball and academics powers.

Hokies -although picking for or against your own team is never a good thing. I think it's a 17 point game but have to pick the good guys because I can't root for us not to score!
