The label inside it says "Custom Made to Order for George H. Burton. Ordered Through Virginia Tech". After a research, found that that he was a friend of T. Marshall Hahn (VT President 1962-1974).

I'm sorry that you drove all the way to Kalamazoo to watch the Hokies crush a sub-par opponent. I sadly have relatives who live in said city...

While I'm not eligible for the prize, I want to hail the excellent collections you guys have, and share my prize Hokie possession.

For Christmas 2004, my now-wife told me to make sure my ticket stubs for the season, including the Sugar Bowl I was headed to in a week, were together, because she was going to have this made to commemorate our first ACC championship, with stubs from all the games I attended (including USC at FedEx, @Miami, and the Sugar).

Framed 2004 VT tickets

A couple years after that, I decided to try to get all of my ticket stubs from Hokie events together in one place. End result: I'm about 90% on ticket stubs for home games since '97. The only bowl game I'm missing out of the seven I've attended is the '98 Gator, and the only road game I've attended that I'm missing is '02 Western Michigan.

Definitely not doom and gloom, cautious optimism I think. The best part of the article is the 1453 word rant on why the article sucked. Please don't invite him to guest write at the Key Play.

The Lane Stadium ornament is tight.

Instead of Santa does the Hokie Bird come and only leave Hokie clothes and other awesome VT stuff?

This banner got us 15 minutes of fame after that epic game against Miami in 2004. Nothing felt sweeter than seeing pictures of it in every Miami newspaper in the airport on the way back to Blacksburg to celebrate the Hokies' first ACC Championship.

We can't lose to Boise State because the chances are very good that they'll end up running the table and we won't be able to jump them nor will the nation want to see a rematch.

But, Boise St is no Alabama...if we lose and then run the table, we need there to be only 1 unbeaten.

I've got to believe that if we beat Boise St and even scratch one in the pocket during conference play, we are still in the discussion until the season ends and there are indeed 2 unbeatens. Last year we were always the #1 of 1-loss, 2-loss, and even 3-loss teams.

If we run the table I feel this is a no brainer for us to be in the top 3 of everyone's list.

Pure awesomeness...can't wait for the Fail Whale to make an appearance in Charlottesville!

Retweeted today immediately.

These are the games: Boise State's big Labor Day audition

If it beats Virginia Tech, yes, Boise State is good enough to play for a championship. Whatever happens from there, it will happen with the Broncos in the driver's seat.

My question is does the good Doctor feel the converse is true? In other words, if VT beats Boise then VT is good enough to play for a championship.

I see 10 wins and/or an ACCCG as our quality standard; we either achieve it or we don't...we're field tested so to speak and have come to expect this based on past performance, and we sell it to the media as well.

It sounds like Hokie Nation has set this as an achievable goal, so therefore we are "successful" when we meet it.

I think Tony Robbins would NOT approve of this however, and I seriously doubt Frank & Co. got to where they are by being realistic either. That trophy case is open for a reason and the goal is there whether it's spoken or not. We're just not publically as a University setting ourselves up for failure like Ohio St, Notre Dame, Texas, and others every year.

some grey shirts offers, specifically OL Jake Goins getting a fall offer now. Almost has to get one if Landon Turner choose UNC over VT this Sunday.
