Xavier Chaplin. Former LT and current free agent
Chaplin? I don't see him on our roster.
Bad last two minutes...
Fell on our face to end half...where have we seen that before
I mean if he plays only a well as Woodson, but without all the penalties and off-field stuff, it will be an improvement.
-another offseason of development
-something to play for/motivation
-a qb with better pocket presence
+
The oline will look much better if we can actually complete short / quick passes
All of this. Lines usually improve in their second year under an OL coach, and Moore has a track record of significant improvement in year two. C Altuner, LG Ghannam, slide Garrett to RT, find a LT, and competition for RG including possibly someone from the transfer portal, plus some better injury luck (ours was terrible this season). It's not a world-beating OL, but I think it'll be more than serviceable.
Did not expect only 3 attempts from outside at this point. Good to see them take it inside with success
Yeah, me too. Starting to think maybe Matt Campbell has been in his ear to stick around as QB2 behind Becht in 2026 before taking the reins in 2027. Seems like we should have the inside track on him from a coaching standpoint, and our pay for QB1 should be respectable, but maybe he and/or his agent is just being deliberate and holding out for the best possible deal.
And then an injury...
Somebody must have lit a fire under Peterson. She's been much more aggressive tonight than I've seen all year. Now if she can just finish.
Yeah this is my question too. Howland was the backup LT in the playoff game according OurLads. Is he ready this year? I would still be more comfortable if Chaplin comes back.
Its starting to feel like its going to be a completely turned-over roster... when do season tickets go on sale?
Hard to tell from any of those clips since he had to put the breaks on in every single one of them.
Two lazy passes... two turnovers!
0 turnovers is a big deal. They've had a really good 1 qtr. However, to be picky, I've seen about 4 missed layups and one air-balled three. Make half of those and we have another about 6 points.
One thing jumping out at me: what does the home crowd look like if this was at Cassell? 😆
Decent start by the Hokies through the first quarter.
7 point lead.
47.6% from the field.
66.7% from range.
No trips to the stripe yet.
6 assists
0 Turnovers
2 steals.
Again, regardless, the /s solves the problem. Ltrepeter obviously didn't realize either.
It can be hard to read sarcasm (from a practitioner of it), and you never know who may not be used to watching films and doesn't know what the yellow shirts mean. I mean, we've had players slow up in other situations, and it WAS a concern. 🤷♂️
From ON SI, "During his redshirt freshman season in 2024, Howland had a 67.9 overall grade according to PFF, with a 70.2 pass blocking grade and a 62.9 run blocking grade. He would have been the best grading offensive lineman on the Virginia Tech football team that year.
If he can stay healthy, he is going to be good one.
It's nice getting players from Big 10 and SEC schools.
What should happen here? Williams should be told he has to play for Washington next year or sit.
What will happen? He will transfer wherever he wants, get paid and after some public outcry about obvious tampering, the school who is paying him will have no actual penalty or consequence.
The really twisted thing here is if Williams is able to pretty blatantly violate a contract without any penalty, then lots of Schools are going to take a serious look at whether this whole NIL system is worth their while. This event could actually be the straw that breaks down this completely broken "system" and could end up costing the players more than it helps them.
French also said we have no LT on roster now. And we need depth. A possibility is Ethan Calloway from LSU. He hails from Mooresville, NC and may have been one of the visitors at the BB game the other night. Let's hope.

Feel like this could just be saved to the template at this point.
