Louisville just a better passing team than us. Fraction of seconds faster difference between gimme buckets/wide open shots and them closing out defense on ours
This same thing happened to Duke -Georgia Tech on men's side with our 3OT game. That game was two minutes from Halftime when ours finally ended.
Crook takes 3rd with 4-0 Dec Collins from Army.
Missed nearly the entirety of the first quarter thanks to their ineptitude.

ESPN can eat a giant male member. lolUVA vs F$U game is in 2OT, but they say the VT game should be on ACC Network Xtra...but it is nowhere to be found in the ESPN app.
Give him the Blanding treatment
Cant wait to see him catch a block that lays his ass out
I'm tired of reading about Woodson in French's film reviews for all the wrong reasons. If Bama wants him, good luck!
That was a gutsy win. Now job EV!
Now the MFF for Campbell in Consolation
Eddie V with a takedown in SV and he wins 4-1. He is your 125 pound Scuffle champion!
It would be very cool. But as someone who's gone to a Winter classic and the Battle of Bristol, I think it would realistically be a mediocre fan experience.
Seeing a hockey rink/puck in the middle of a football field is really hard because the stands are so far away. Seeing a football field from the speedway stands was already difficult, so putting a playing surface roughly 1/3 the size there would make it that much harder.
They'd have to think about orienting the rink in a different direction and only using some of the seats to make it viewable at all.
I was on the same plane as his mom from Nashville to IAD last year after after the Vandy game and she was not shy about letting everyone know she wasnt a fan of Pry and that Caleb could be in the portal sooner rather than later.
If I recall, Caleb had a younger brother who chose Pitt over VT as well. So they certainly weren't drinking the VT Kool Aid.
Oh he's going to hear some very interesting things from the east side stands this fall
lol what a dweeb
Once a hokie always a hokie
Jk kick rocks.
Gross
OL Carter Stallard is in the portal
also with the 105 roster limit it affects rosters in new ways that we only saw the start of last season.
Fucking traitor
Virginia has landed a commitment from Virginia Tech defensive back transfer Christian Ellis, his agency @APSportsAgency tells me, @chris_hummer and @CodyNagel247.Had 99 tackles and an interception at New Mexico in 2024 before transferring to Virginia Tech. pic.twitter.com/GS4WXv3Ysxβ Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) January 4, 2026
Holy! $4!t!!
I found some numbers from an article posted last year.
Over the first six years of the portal era, the total number of FBS players who have transferred has more than doubled from 1,561 in 2018-19 to over 3,700 in last year's cycle, according to NCAA transfer data.
The total number of players among FBS scholarship transfers rose from 1,946 in 2021-22 to 2,303 in 2022-23, and then up to 2,707 in 2023-24.
In 2023-24, the total number of NCAA football players across all divisions who entered the the portal exceeded 11,000.
I'm sure that we'll get some better details by the end of the month after the portal closes.
But I'm also interested in seeing a deeper dive in those numbers. Even within that article, the language changes between "number of transfers" and "number of players in the portal". I'm sure there's a difference in those two numbers, and most articles are just going to use whichever sounds the most shocking.
The portal is also the method for a player to move up or down a division. How do the numbers of the players transferring between FCS and FBS compare to the pre-portal era?
There's a lot of nuance and qualifiers out there.

They also appear to be individually more talented and/or technically proficient than the Hokies, which just exacerbates our turnover tendencies. It's tough to watch.
