With the blowout loss by Alabama today, and the likely loss by UVA, one has to think that Miami would get the nod.

I made essentially this same argument on Twitter tonight and got all the same pushback. Bottom line, DC gives you a larger metropolitan area to draw more casual football fans. It also gives you a better opportunity to fill empty seats by giving those tickets to Service members. The new stadium is planned to be an encloseable roof. It will have metro stadium access and several new hotels are also part of the development. Capacity is expected to be around 65,000.
It gives you a climate controlled environment to have regular attendance at or near the average of the other three power conferences. Even when they have had good teams attendance was almost 10K less than Big 10.
Today's attendance:
Big 12: 85,519
Big 10: 67,469 (capacity)
SEC: 77,247
ACC: Clown School
Negatives: Less central to ACC, including the HQs. Less drivable for some of those same central schools.
If the seeding holds and we win the group, we will get Belgium in the round of 16.
